The walk starts from near the town centre of Fermoy where the main road crosses the Blackwater. It then passes through very pleasant wooded countryside, in part alongside the riverside.

A nice peaceful walk along the banks of the Blackwater but unfortunately on the Cork side of the river the walk itself is very short indeed. Maybe it is better to walk along the riverbank on the Dublin side but we could see no obvious...More

I found this walk fascinating, it becomes enclosed by fences for the second half of the walk! I really enjoyed it, I wouldn't like to do it alone or in the evening/when it's dark though. The scenery is beautiful .

Pleasant walk that starts along the river bank and continues through woods. The walk can be extended by including the forest park after you hit the road.

I have relatives who live along the river. It is a beautiful walk. You can feed the ducks, watch the rowers from the rowing club, walk past the style into the pastures and along the shores of the river for a long ways. Very quiet...More
