- Brian703Banbridge, United Kingdom69 contributionsGreat advice from lovely ladyI have been visiting Buncrana quite regularly for last 5 years but never used the tourist office until this week. Called in to just have a look around and to pick up a few leaflets. So glad we called as Monica was fabulous and took time to explain the various places on Inishowen (even though near closing time). All her advice was great and will help us with future visits! (As well as our last 2 days)Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2024
- Marian B158 contributionsExcellent Tourist Board OfficeMy partner and I used the Buncrana Tourist Board on a couple of occasions in June and July getting information on Inishowen. Monica was more than helpful with booklets, maps and suggestions on what to visit. She kindly marked on the map where places were which was very helpful. We would recommend this tourist board, a very welcoming place.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 July 2024

The staff here are absolutely faultless. We visited on September 8th and they went above and beyond to help. Nothing was too much bother and they really took their time with us. If you're up that way, I'd highly recommend calling in for all your tourist information needs.

This is an important resource in the Buncrana / Inishowen area and we have to compliment Heidi for her great welcome and information. For tourism in the area it is vital that places like this are open and available. We were looking for fairly basic information on the Fr Hegarty Rock walk - we probably would have worked out where the start was but it was great to be able to pop in and get that information so easily here. We also picked up some brochures and maps which will definitely enhance our stay in the area.

I visited Inishowen tourist office on my bike trip to Malin Head on Thursday 16th September. My intention was to stay a few minutes and pick up some brochures. I was welcomed by Heidi who gave me some excellent advice, even changing my hotel booking to stay at the Seaview Hotel, Malin Head and enjoy the Malin Head experience into Saturday- I'm so glad for her good advise as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Malin Head and the onward public transport journey back to Cork as advised by Heidi.
Thanks again!

Most helpful and friendly people in the tourist office. They gave us great recommendations on what to see and do in Buncrana. We loved the place, lovely coastal walks, even a coastal outdoor gym, lots of history and the beautiful Swan Park which is still a work in progress. We camped in our van for two nights at the back of the tourist office, lovely friendly helpful staff in the supermarket across the road. The Amazing Grace route from the little park was lovely and its great to see how you are all looking after the bees up there. Some magnificent lace work on the tree. A big thank you to Monica and Stephen in the tourist office. Please God we will be back.

Very helpful staff. We stopped for directions and got a detailed "turn by turn" list of how to get where we were going. We also asked for recommendations of places to eat on our route and got quite a few.We tried one and it was great (and pretty cheap). In addition the lady who helped us asked what we were planning for later in our holiday and although it would be out of the Inishowen area she had maps highlighting things of interest. This is a really good tourist resource and helps promote their area (and neighbouring ones). Thanks for all the help!

My first trip to the Inishowen area. Heidi was really enthusiastic & helpful, making suggestions of where to visit in the few days we had in the area. Gave us info booklets snd maps for places of interest, walks, cycling around Donegal, to take-away with us which really helped too. Had a lovely time in the area.

Can I be directed to locations in Buncrana that would have been there in 1850, about the time my grandfather left for America? I would like to look at the things he saw at age 18.

Buncrana castle, swans mill, Dundee fort, o’Doherty’s Keep, the Fort at Ned’s Point. Cockhill chapel and cemetery. Church on Main Street I think Go speak to Excelsior Bar and talk to Peter. He is very knowledgeable about the area
