Youghal is a very historic walled port town with numerous interesting sites to see. It is also a modern vibrant town with blue flag beaches. In the heart of it all is Moby Dick’s Pub with its unique water front setting. Little wonder then that John Huston and Gregory Peck based themselves in Moby Dick’s Pub for the duration of the film.

We were doing a day trip and came here and looked for a place for a quick lunch. We saw Moby Dick's and decided to give it a try. This famous pub was frequented by the crew and stars of the same titled film that was done here in 1954. It is located right on the harbor. The food was... More

Large pub and it had been around for a very long time. The movie made it famous but I think it has difficulty living up to everyone's expectations. An OK stop but not a must see.

Stopped in here when the weather was bad with my father-in-law and son(who wanted to watch the Olympics). Really old style pub and the barman (possibly the owner) gave us brief snippets of local history in between pints. He did this really well, he was not intrusive but his anecdotes were really interesting. The pub was used as a base... More

The town crier met us at our bus! We then went to Moby Dick's (where it was filmed) and had a Irish coffee! Very friendly!!! Loved this little stop off the beaten path!

I was really looking forward to a few pints here, but the atmosphere was really poor,a few local drunks ,one particularly annoying British sitting at the counter shouting and roaring,we came in to watch FA cup final and left after 1 drink and went over the quays, what a difference!!!

We stopped at this family run pub after a great walk around Youghal with another couple. We took a seat near the window overlooking the harbour. The publican was friendly and the atmosphere was warmly welcoming.

A lovely, mostly family run pub. It has character oozing out of its very walls. Something, you would expect to see in a small little town in 1950 or something. Very elegent. I love it.

I had researched this pub and expected more because of its history with the film, but it was a disappointment. I don't know if it was because it was evening and the kitchen was closed, but the place looked dismal -- dark, no charm, but lots of photos of the Moby Dick cast. There were two separate rooms with two... More
