About
One of Ireland’s oldest cinemas, the Regal Cinema in Youghal reopened its doors in summer 2018 following a year-long renovation. The refurbished cinema has 2 screens showing the latest Hollywood movies and old classics on state-of-the-art 4K digital technology. The stunning cinema also has a luxury mezzanine level in screen one, a multi-purpose space for events and, for a truly unique experience, cinema goers and walk-in guests alike can enjoy a glass of wine in the new Regal Wine Bar & Café. Built in 1936, many of the cinemas original architectural features have been meticulously restored and some eye-catching, art deco style touches added throughout making this a wonderfully nostalgic cinema experience.

I brought my little girl here for her very first trip to the cinema & we were not disappointed! The staff are just wonderful! So polite & helpful! The booster seats are ideal for the kids, my daughter was very comfortable & didn’t have to strain to see the screen. I thought the lady handing lollipops out at the end of the show was a fantastic touch! Thanks so much for making our day so special!

Visited on a wet day recently with the kids, it was perfect for it.
Lovely cinema, pick up your tickets and get food from the one counter, the cinemas are decent size and comfy seating and kids were happy throughout.
It’s right in the town but there is parking available on the street outside or nearby car parks. With covid all parking seems to be free, the parking meter wouldn’t take money one day I tried with a small sign saying parking is free on behalf of cork county council.

We celebrated my mother's birthday at the function room at the Regal Cinema on Saturday evening. We are so glad that we came across this option as we had a fantastic evening. Our little group included 5 adults and 2 children. Old and young had great fun and felt safe in the current pandemic which was important to us. The cinema is a special venue and is spotlessly clean.
Staff were masked and gloved. Sanitising units are located throughout the building and are full. The toilets were well maintained and perfectly clean throughout the evening. Social distancing markers are used and in general it is clear that the Covid-19 guidelines are being followed.
None of this takes away from the atmosphere of the cinema - it really is lovely and the Art Deco style decor is fabulous.
Killian was excellent at helping me to consider the options available and we decided to go with the function room. He recommended Sage Cafe for catering and his recommendation was spot on. After the kids (aged 6 and 2) had enjoyed a spot of karaoke we tucked in to a delicious meal from Sage Cafe who provided tableware etc and delivered the hot food. We chose a nice bottle of wine from the wine list at the cinema. It is a treat to have the option of enjoying a glass of wine at the cinema. After our meal we enjoyed Annie (1967).
Ellen was the staff member assigned to look after us on the evening and she did a great job and the children were delighted with her.
I think the staff at the cinema contribute greatly to the lovely atmosphere and are to be commended. Early on the Saturday morning my 6 year old daughter and I were walking past the cinema and my daughter was peeping in the window. As we walked on a lovely smiling lady came out and asked were we ok. I told her about our party plans for the evening and we had a lovely chat with her. Her name is Jennifer and she told us all about the cinema and about her work keeping the cinema looking beautiful and impeccably clean.
The combination of dinner from Sage and a movie at the Regal Cinema function room was perfect. The value for money was excellent. We were all able to relax and enjoy ourselves and with small kids it was a much better option than having a meal at a restaurant where we would be trying to ensure that our little darlings don't disturb other patrons or in the current times breach social distancing guidelines.
We look forward to returning to the Regal to watch a movie at one of the screens and are currently trying to dream up a special occasion to celebrate so that we can return to the function room.

Fantastic venue and experience! Staff are friendly and helpful! The manager Killian told us about the history of the building and made us feel so welcomed. 10 out of 10.

I just absolutely LOVE everything about this cinema! The decor, the staff, the older movies they play its all amazing.. I am always recommending this cinema to people. I travel 25 mins to get here and it is so worth it! My sisters and I went to all the Harry Potter movies when they showed them in Sept and Oct. We looked forward to them every Monday and have to say we were disappointed when they finished. I love sitting in the balcony and bringing in a glass of wine or a hot chocolate it is such a treat. The staff are all so friendly and helpful they couldn't be nicer. I could honestly keep going on about this wonderful place but don't take my word for it go see for yourself you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I and two friends travelled to Youghal cinema recently. We were greeted warmly on arrival and shown up to the bar area. This is beautifully decorated with comfortable seats and low music. We enjoyed our drinks and snacks. At film time we were shown to our seats. These are really plush with plenty of room to sit curled or stretched out. The icing on the cake for me was being able to sip my wine while watching the film. We enjoyed every minute of our visit and will definitely be back.

A fantastic place and experience. From the decor to the staff everything is delightful. Felt like we stepped back in time to old world movie viewing but with the modern twist. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will most likely become regulars.

I've been dying to go see something in The Regal since before it even opened. I even had tickets to see Moby Dick on Culture Night but got pulled in to work and had to cancel. So I was delighted to finally visit today. It really felt like an indulgent luxury to be sitting in the plush comfy seats with a glass of wine and a box of popcorn. I only wish we'd booked our tickets sooner to get a mezzanine seat. Next time. The staff were so friendly and helpful, putting our buggy away when we went upstairs to the bar after the film. We'll be coming back again and again.

We had our boys 8th birthday party here recently, and what a treat it was. From the minute we arrived Scott made sure we were all taken care of and most importantly all kiddos had fun. Chocolate on popcorn, jellies selection, karaoke and DELICIOUS COFFE for the adults were all fantastic. One to remember for a very long time. We loved it!!! Thank you to all the staff in Regal Cinema.
