About Cavan Adventure Centre
Overview: The Cavan Adventure Centre is located within the ROI side of the UNESCO Marble Arch Caves Global GeoPark. The beautiful lowlands were formed by glacial erosion in the last ice age and has since become home to a wide and varied diversity of wildlife, in particular waterbirds and raptors. The abundance of such spices has also given the area status as a bird sanctuary. The area is also of significant importance to the heritage of the region. The island castle of Cloughoughter, constructed in the 13th century (unknown but aprox) is located 3km from our Centre and once represented the stronghold of the O'Rourke clan in the old Kingdom of Brefini. This was before being taken over by the Anglo-Norman William Gorm de Lacy when they wrestled control of the region. At the Centre we promote the regions heritage, culture and unique landscape. We achieve this by engaging the public, schools and tourists in fun, interesting and active ways. We promote outdoor activities, education, conse

Did the Halloween Night paddle with my fiancé. The team were great and it was lots of fun (even if he did fall in 😂). Would definitely recommend the Cavan adventure Center

Had a great time out on the lake with a beautiful day for it. Made our way to the castle and looped back from there. Sean was a gent and was a pleasure to deal with, you couldn't ask for more.

Amazing day on the lake . Got the kayaks and off we went . When booking it was suggested to bring a picnic for when we got to the island , such a great suggestion as we did and it was perfect . Kayaks are fab , all of us supplied with life jackets. Staff were so lovely . Will be booking again when we're back in Cavan . Well worth it . Amazing time for all of us . Aged 4 up . Brilliant couldn't have been more perfect .

We did kayaking on the lake in July. The overall experience was poor. The employees didn’t seem to be organised or efficient in their management of clients. There was no guidance or orientation about any aspect of this booking other than “take this kayak and go”. They didn’t seem to care about us being there. Whether under-staffing or lack of experience, the employees did not inspire any confidence in their professionalism or an ability to run a successful business. If you want to enjoy a few hours of self-guided kayaking, the service will provide that. However, don’t expect anything else. The weather was unfortunately terrible so we finished early and upon our return there were no staff around at all to assist us. We left our kayaks and life vests and departed without any interaction with any of the staff.
