Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband & I just returned from a tour with Gate 1/Discovery Tours. This is a small group tour of a max of 22 people. From the beginning to end we had a great time. The tour was very well organized with free time for ourselves. Our tour guide Maureen Campbell did a fabulous job. What a gal! Maureen made us all feel like family. She is very knowlagable of everything Irish. Along with our driver Eddie who is quite the comedian you can't help but have a great time. We went to many interesting places and had lunch twice at private homes. Hotel accommodations and food were all excellent.
I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Maureen as the tour guide and possibly Eddie as the driver. Guaranteed you will have the time of your life👍👍👍

We are a group of Retired Seniors that take a four or five day break in Ireland every year and we have used this tour company to organise all aspects of our tour. We have always received an excellent service by way of organising all aspects of our tour including Coach travel, accommodation, visits to sites and events, and solving any problems that may arise. Most of all we have found the service provided by AnnMarie to be professional, efficient and most friendly which makes our ventures all the more enjoyable.

My wife and I just completed a 14 day private tour with Annmarie and it was everything we hoped it would be. Annmarie had every detail planned out that covered our wish list for seeing this beautiful country and made sure we were taken care of at every stop. She is extremely knowledgeable of Ireland's history, geology, language and culture and was eager to share this information both at specific places we visited and of areas we were just driving by. Annmarie was also flexible in making changes to itinerary along the way to maximize our experience. My personal favorites were Cliffs of Moher, Dun Aengus on Inishmore island and Kylemore Abbey, but there were so many other great stops along the way that included amazing castles, historical churches as well as the spectacular views of the coastal areas. If you're looking to tour Ireland you should contact Annmarie, whether it's for a private or group tour, you can't go wrong.

I am currently on a 9 day tour of Ireland which was not cheap. This is my 68 th country i have visited and have never felt this way before … where i don’t want to get back on the bus.
The tour director is rude and condescending, I don’t appreciate being treated like a child.

The accomodation is out of town which means if you want to spend the evening in the city centre it costs a fortune to get a taxi or uber there and back . They don’t actually stop at a lot of places on the itinerary they just drive past.

Even before the tour started i was stressed as the company i booked though had my details however they did not give them to globus and i was getting threatening emails saying if i didn’t complete the paper work i would be turned away from the tour . Which was fully paid for. I was in a remote country and having trouble with the internet and logging on to the site. I was emailing them and trying to ring them multiple times with no one getting back to me .Holidays are meant to be a happy stress free time so if you don’t want a similar experience avoid Cosmos Globus

I'm very disappointed to see you are discriminating against people who choose not to be injected by an experimental 'vaccine'. These trails ar still at stage 3 and are ongoing until 2023. Having had covid I've built up natural antibodies and do not need to take the vacvine. I won't be booking with you this summer as this is totally wrong and a violation of my human rights.

Ireland Discovery Tours, under the excellent guidance of Annmarie, took our group of 42 retired folk on a four-day trip in Ireland South based in Dungarvan, County Waterford. The tour included a varied and diverse range of visits and guided tours in a totally relaxed and friendly environment.
For a professional stress free, safe and relaxing tour there is none better.

Was part of a group that Ireland Discovery Tours took to Mayo last week.
I would highly recommend Anne Marie and her team for their professional approach and ability to find little gems that nobody knew existed.
We had a wonderful week

Positives:
The Cosmos Ireland Tour covered the perimeter of the country. There were lots of sheep, green meadows, dramatic ocean cliffs, and very old castles. The tour guide was informative and the bus driver was safe and polite.

Negatives:
Included Meals: Daily breakfast and three dinners were included in the tour package. One of the dinners was good while the rest of the meals were marginally edible. (Visualize ice cold pancakes that you have to put through the conveyor belt on the toaster machine to warm up and watery, lukewarm oatmeal). You are being fed on the extreme cheap. (Bring granola bars with you for survival!)

Disregard for Universally Accepted Infection Control Infection Procedures: The large tour bus was full to capacity. Several tourists were sick with very audible coughing, sneezing and hacking. No one -- and I mean no one -- covered their mouth or nose when sneezing and coughing. There were a few face masks on a tray at the center of the bus but no one used them. The air on the bus is recirculated. The tour guide ignored the raging pandemic around him. He never mentioned the masks or suggested that people cover their mouth and nose. I wore my HEPA filter mask continuously and was subjected to ongoing looks of disgust and contempt from the other people on the bus. (Perhaps, they thought I was infringing on their civil right to get me sick.) Even with my mask and flu shot two weeks prior, I never had a chance on that bus and I got sick for 10 days toward the end of the tour. Cosmos/Globus responded to my written complaint with the following "(tour guides) are to encourage guests they could or should seek medical attention however, they cannot force a guest to do so." I interpret this as meaning that once Cosmos has your paid in full money, you're on your own. (Bring face masks and lots of hand sanitizer!)

Hard Sell on Optional Excursions that are Treated as Mandatory: I purchased an optional ticket for the Titanic Museum in Belfast (fantastic experience!) but I elected not to attend evening entertainment, including a visit to a pub, in my free time. On the morning before each evening excursion, the tour guide would announce to the group on the bus that 'almost everyone has signed up for tonight's excursion' and then he would look at me. The following morning, the tour guide would announce that 'almost everyone had a good time last night' and then he would look at me. The tour guide even recruited a woman on the bus that I had never met to try to convince me to sign up for optional events that I did not wish to attend. This hard sell pressure was an invasion of my privacy and created a hostile travel environment for me. I was labeled as the unfriendly one who would not join the group. (I came to Ireland to see sheep, not to be a sheep and I refuse to surrender to "group mentality"). Public humiliation for refusal to attend optional outings was not listed in the tour description. I am not responsible for enhancing the commissions of the tour guide and I will never be bullied into attending events that make me uncomfortable.

Solo Traveler: Some of the tourists on my bus seemed to have an issue with a woman traveling alone. I was interrogated by several people as to why I was traveling alone and I heard myself apologizing more than once for my presence on the tour. One woman demanded to know my life story at dinner. (Classy bunch!)

Summary: The Cosmos Ireland tour is less expensive than other tours but you definitely get what you pay for in more ways than one. Buyer Beware -- You always have a choice.

As a member of our retirement group our latest 4 day tour with Annmarie to the sunny south east in Dungarvan was excellent. Based in Dungarvan we visited Kilkenny, Spike Island, Sure Valley Railway and many other places of interest. We really enjoyed the tour and we could not thank Annmarie enough for her help and professionalism.
