Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a fantastic guided tour around loop head. Martin was very entertaining and full of stories and history of the characters and sites of interest. I would highly recommend and definitely worth the investment on a great day out. Definitely should not be missed.

What do Charlotte Bronte, Che Guevara and Richard Harris have in common? Yes, they have all stayed in Kilkee. This Victorian seaside town has always had a lot to offer: a dip in the famous pollock holes, a longer swim in its horse shoe bay, a bracing cliff walk, and plenty of social life in its hostelries. But for even the most seasoned visitors to Kilkee, there is more to discover. As part of Heritage Week, a pal and I joined a walking tour of the town led by Martin Haugh of Loop Head Walking Tours. Lasting approx. 2 and a half hours, we walked from the Stella Maris Hotel to the west end. As a local, Martin had an excellent store of memories and anecdotes to bring the history of Kilkee to life. Overall the tour was fun, friendly and very informative. Well worth doing.

I was lucky to spend a morning with Martin Haugh on a walking trek of Kilkee town. It was a wonderful experience, full of local knowledge, juicy tit-bits of news and rumours, and plenty of hard facts and history. Martin is an accomplished story teller, has facts and figures at the ready, and always maintains an interesting tale. The trek is to be highly recommended and guaranteed to amuse and entertain. It has always been my dream to visit the Cliffs. What an excellent idea to book a guided tour before leaving home with Loophead walking tours! Even if I was the only one interested that day, Martin found a "personal" solution for me in order to allow me to experience the Cliffs of West Clare in all their aspects: geological, historical, bothanical and landscape. We even picked up mushrooms for my omelette the next morning. An extraordinary experience!

We did the Loophead Tour of 14km. Stunning views, a little excitement climbing over creeks and ditches and very nice conversations with Martin about flora and fauna, Irish history and current affairs. Only to be recommended.

Went out with Martin on the Kilcredaun route. He's hugely knowledgeable about the area and its heritage and lore. Careful of all in the party and helpful when things get rough underfoot. Would highly recommend a guided walk with Martin who knows the area and local landowners and can access routes safely and with permission.

If you would like to experience the rugged, stunning coast line of West Clare, this is the tour for you! Martin Haugh is an extremely experienced tour guide with a vast array of knowledge on local history. He ensures that you are safe and comfortable with the walk and the terrain. It was one of my most memorable experiences in Clare! The Wild Atlantic sea, the Baltard cliffs, beautiful beaches, and wildflowers are not to be missed! We even had a coffee break as Martin provided coffee and cake as we were sitting on the cliff.. I look forward to my next tour with Martin.

What a fabulous day I had on April 24th.
Martin Haugh was a wonderful tour guide. His knowledge of the area was so appreciated. He took us to areas we never would have found on our own. I also so enjoyed meeting the neighbors along the way. It added such a lovely and personal touch to an already awesome experience. My only advice to anyone taking the tour is, if Martin says don't look down, he's not kidding,
DON'T LOOK DOWN!!!

Should you ever want to explore West Clare, look no further! With Martin Haugh, you have the best tour guide you could possibly find. Martin grew up in Kilkee and after successfully running a business in Kilkee for many years, he started his second carreer as a certified tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, one of the friendliest people I've met and will go out of his way to find the perfect tour for you.
And if you're lucky enough to secure a room at his wife' Ann's Stella Maris hotel in Kilkee - you have the perfect package...

Our Walking Club had a wonderfu loop walk, from Kilkee to Cusheen with Martin, last Saturday. Absolutely amazing coastal walk - Cliff formations are spectacular. We could see The Aran Islands in the distance. However, it was Martin's local knowledge & stories that were 'the icing in the cake'.
