If you are "Religious" or not ?? Please do not let your particular believes discourage you from this fantastic example of splendid architecture both interior and obviously exterior !!! There is an ambience of complete peace and tranquility 💖😊 If you want to totally relax and have a good think about your problems or worries or even just to pay your respects ?? In this tranquil surrounding area of art and masterpieces , it's the place !!

Attended Sunday mass here and it was a decent service. No music which was disappointing but the church was lovely. Weather was crappy that day so we did not get to get very many pictures and they turn all the lights in the church off as soon as mass ends and the people are mostly out of the church which made indoor photography rather difficult as well. Does not help make people feel welcome to stay and enjoy the church.

After several visits to LK I finally to decided to make the effort to climb up to St Eunan's. It was well worth it as I spent over an hour walking around enjoying my surroundings.
Fabulous views of the town and surrounds

Lovely big cathedral overlooking the whole town. Well worth the climb up the hill to not only look around this magnificent cathedral but also to get great views of the town.

This Cathedral is a landmark as you approach the town of Letterkenny from any angle and it is magnificent. As a local you may be inclined to take it for granted as you pass it several times a week or like me most days. It is a great meeting place as it can't be missed and there is up to 3 hours free parking in the area. You can explore the town from here by going down any of the streets off the area. The only problem is that it is on a hill and by their nature are not easy to climb for those among us who are not superfit.
There is a toilet block outdoors for patrons or visitors to the Cathederal, The ornate stonework is magnificent but not on the same scale as the very famous cathedrals of Ireland or the UK. There is enough stonework for the avid photographers who turn up quite often. Within a short walk you are in the town center which has lots of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants galore.
It is well worth a visit even in the winter time.

First stop on our " Letterkenny Heritage Tour" .
This is a stunningly decorated building with a very welcoming atmosphere.
Beautiful carving and stained glass windows.
We felt able to walk around and admire at our leisure.
Well worth visiting.

from 1695-1840 guards were posted in the area to warn of English soldiers while mass was said. Seems like history is repeating itself. The cathedral is on a high point above the town. A large Celtic Cross stands in the center of the parking lot across the street freom the cathedral. It is an impressive building.
