"Donegal Tour Guide", Henry Doohan is a native of County Donegal and passionate about showcasing the gems of his homeland.

Irish (or Gaelic) is the first language of the people in the Donegal Gaeltacht and the Irish cultural traditions are safeguarded. Learn a cúpla focail (a few words) of Irish on board this Gaeltacht tour and have fun practicing with the locals throughout the day.

All Donegal Gaeltacht tour itineraries are custom built to suit the interests of the tourist, their location and timeframe available. Visited here on a recommendation from the hotel. Beautiful place whether you’re walking or cycling. We hired bikes, €25 for 2 bikes and you get 3 hours. An incredible place to visit. The castle is fantastic, terrible shame it was closed but you can ramble around the gardens and tower. There’s a nice coffee shop here too. We cycled on up to the waterfall which was lovely, the scenery all around is great and makes the spin quite enjoyable. It’s a tough enough cycle if your not reasonably fit but it’s very doable. Well worth a visit and admission is free, this was one of my favourite days touring Donegal.

Grounds are lovely. I'd recommend booking ahead if you want a bike, we didn't have to wait too long but a queue built up behind us. I would like to have seen the waterfall but it was 8kms further and the bike man had warned us the terrain would be a bit more difficult so having not been on a bike for over 30 years I thought it better not to attempt it and unfortunately we didn't have time to make the walk. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the full experience. Due to COVID-19 the castle wasn't open but the grounds were still lovely.
