I’m not sure if other reviews here are accurate. I think some may be confusing this with the Poulnabrone Dolmen that is close by, and very well signposted with paths and information displays. Poulawack Cairn is off the beaten track. The road is well signposted, but the Cairn itself is not very accesible. To get from the road involved traversing the rugged stony landscape prevalent in the Burren, so it is not for everyone. There is no path, and does involve climbing over stone walls. It took approximately 25 minutes to get from the road to the Cairn. There is a risk of injury, the gaps between the stones can by misleadingly deep. We found the cairn by following google maps, as the signposts stop at the roadside. Poulnawack is the final resting place for numerous people, so should be respected as a burial site. It is a very quiet place, perfect for contemplation. If you do decide to visit, respect the area. Take nothing but memories (and photographs), leave nothing behind.
