Have done a couple of other visits to birds of prey centers, this one stands out, did the walking hawk tour, highlight of trip to area. Traveling w 14 yr old son who is knowledgeable about the creatures and he was enchanted. Great guide and beautiful setting. Didn't spend much time in the center it self, but it appeared nicely done.

Such a valuable experience! Every time I visit, I learn something new. This time was no exception. Instead of a Hawk Walk, which I do heartily recommend, I 'adopted' one of the birds and was privileged to have a few minutes of private flying time with my adoptee.
The falconers are quite professional and show true caring and respect for the birds they handle.
I have donated to the WWF for the preservation of endangered species for years, and now truly wish all of those monies could have been donated to this centre. They do such amazing work, and are provided such a valuable function!
Do visit if you are in the area of the Burren, or, perhaps make a special trip!

This is well worth a look. The display by the birds and the commentary by the guides are excellent. I’ll bet the adults would also like the birds on their arms!

I've been to see the birds of prey show many times over the years. Used to be you could just buy a ticket to see the show for 15 euro, however now you need to buy it together with an alliwee cave tour for 24 euro, why they removed the ability to buy a ticket to just see the bird show I don't know but it's an awful decision in my view.

Well thought out show. Very good for kids, but enjoyable for adults as well. The birds are well cared for and a delight to watch.

The Birds of Prey centre itself was fantastic! The staff doing the flying displays were brilliant..so informative, engaging and funny. If it was just down to the birds of prey centre I would hands down be giving it 5 stars.
Unfortunately though you are now being forced to pay for the caves visit even if you choose not to do it.
We have been visiting the birds of prey centre every year for years now with our 3 children and we have loved it everytime. We have visited the Aillwee caves before also but due to health reasons it is not something I can now do. I feel it is so unfair to force visitors to pay for both the caves and the birds of prey and not give the choice to just do one as has been the case every year up to now.
So disappointed as we will not be returning next year due to the cost involved when only going to the Birds of Prey. Such a shame they have changed their policy.

We really enjoyed our visit and it was a treat to see the birds flying and walking close to us. Each bird was introduced by a different handler who gave an interesting talk about the lifestyle of the bird, and asked questions of the audience. My husband was lucky enough to be able to hold the barn owl and this was quite a treat.

Loved!!!! Fantastic experience seeing the impressive birds in their aviaries and then getting to meet some close up, when we got to hold one ourselves. Dyson the condor made quite an entrance and all birds did their best to perform in near gale winds. Handlers were knowledgeable and informative and entertaining. Clear to see the birds are well cared for and also good to know that this centre contributes to conservation of species around the world. My youngest got a little bored but he made a stone picture instead. Highly recommend.

I plan to visit Birds of Prey Centre next month (around 30th of May) and I wonder if the ticket covers only the audio guide trip or they also let people go outside to see the birds flying in open air? What time and which days is the flying show happening? Thanks!

There is a show with the birds performing with a trainer. You may ask questions at the time. Also, we were allowed to hold the burns on our arms if we choose. This was included in the ticket cost. We enjoyed the show. There were not many people there when we went. Perhaps you can Google Birds of Prey as to when the shows are occurring. I don't remember the day of the week that we went. Hope this helps.

Hello, my wife and I would like to visit this place, however I was wondering, how long does the visit takes? Does any one knows it?
Thanks in advance!

Hello I hope this finds you well. With the combination of a visit to the centre, seeing a flying display, cave tour and cheese tasting you can easily spend a few hours with us at Aillwee. The flying display typically lasts for 45 minutes and a cave tour 35 minutes. Hope to see you here soon!

Your welcome to bring your dog onsite, however it will not be able to enter the centre as it could distress the birds. Hope you make it to see us...

HI! Has anyone done the Hawk Walk with two adults (or people) going at the same time? Is this possible? My husband and I would like to be sure we can do the Hawk Walk together-- we don't have to go one at time, right? Thanks!
There were three adults in our group (my husband, our son, myself) along with two hawks (Calvin and Al). The humans had a wonderful time.
