Lovely Ruins and Cemetery with a Glorious View
Mar 2018 • Friends
Small but lovely cemetery with many Celtic crosses. All that remains of the church are three walls, yet nestled amongst the graves (and with some graves inside the walls), with vines growing up the walls, it still has a sacred air about it. The views are of the surrounding landscape, which includes some curious cattle. This is not a place to drive hours to see, but if you’re nearby it is a worthwhile stop.

Graveyards & Church Ruins

Happened upon the Bishop's Quarter graveyard on N-67 while driving Ballyvaughan to Oranmore and spent about 1/2 hour wandering through the tombstones. It's at the North end of the Burren which is prominent in the background of photos. Interesting architecture on the ruins of the church.
