Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A short drive outside Ardara you turn off the N56 onto a smaller road. It’s narrow in parts and there are a few tight bends; don’t get distracted by the lovely scenery.
Google Maps directions bring you to a gravelled area at the bottom of the falls where you can park, so you don’t have to walk at all.
The falls are stunning and as it had rained there was a lot of water flowing, they were noisy, well worth the visits

This was probably the easiest attraction point in our entire Ireland trip :) you just drive on a small road, pull up to the parking lot and this modest yet beautiful waterfall is right there in front of it.
While in the area do check out Maghera Beach, even though that one is 5 EURO, and of course the waterfalls are free :)
TIP: Arrive from east and return east after Maghera Beach as otherwise the road quality isn't as great as it normally is around this beautiful country - nothing terrible so don't get scared by any means :) whereas east part is more scenic and open/clean.

This waterfall is truly beautiful, especially right after the rain. If you get the opportunity, take the chilly plunge! This is by far the easiest
natural attraction to experience. The carpark is only a mere few meters from the actual waterfall, which makes this an excellent place for great pictures, especially if you are unable to do some of the more difficult hikes.

pretty waterfall which can be driven right up to, this makes it a good sight seeing opportunity for disabled travellers. The water at the base of the waterfall contains fish and you could see them jumping out of the water in the sunshine to catch insects. There are no toilets or other facilities so it is a time limited but worthwhile visit

Lovely little quiet spot on the way to Maghera Beach. Just calm and steady, flowing gently down the steep rocks. Another waterfall occurs right up the beach on the same side - only it pours into the ocean. Very cool.

ALways worth a visit, especially on the way to the beach and the caves. Great that parking is so close.

Simple stop enroute to Maghera Beach & Caves. Peaceful area with nothing around. Enjoying the sound of water for a few minutes to recharge before heading on.

Beautiful waterfall right by the road. No need to walk or even get out of the car, but to enjoy the sound, you should take a walk around. When we went the road coming in from one side was closed so we had to take the long way around but it was beautiful scenery.

Beautiful spot with great photo opportunity.
If you have any difficulty finding it, the location on What Three Words is: ///yoga.capture.ruined
Best to visit after rainfall as the waterfall is more dramatic at that time.

How was the drive to get to the Falls? My mother does not like the treacherous cliff hanging roads. Is it scary to get there? Thank you.

The roads are winding and overlook farmlands and a river that meets sea. ( the road is not high until one point that overlooks the water) It is not treacherous though :)
Does anyone know why there is a memorial at this waterfall for a lady called Siobhan? Just visited this water fall today, it is stunning, I was just wondering why the memorial was placed there?

Siobhan a mother a daughter and a sister was not from Maghera or Donegal but loved the area. Her request to be beside the Assaranca Waterfall was respected by her family. Such a peaceful resting place visited by many people....💚💛💚💛

Heading from Ardara to killybegs in Co. Donegal, about a mile outside of town, there is a right hand turn which will eventually take you to Maghera beach, the waterfall is on this road, you can't miss it.
