Our group of 18 had another fantastic tour, led by Deirdra, who shared her great knowledge of the area with us. This was our second tour with Deirdra, the first being in Rathmelton some time ago, and once again we were delighted with her delivery of the information relative to the area and the iteresting talk given by Deirdra at every historic spot we paused at along the way in Rathmullan.

I booked a tour of Rathmullen for a large group from Mid Ulster and Donegal with Deirdre and Fergus to explore the story of the Flight of the Earls.
The tour included a walk around Rathmullen sharing the history and stories of the Fort, the Abbey and many of the other wonderful buildings around the town.
Both Deirdre and Fergus unravelled the history of the town and its connections across the world with knowledge and humour. The two hours disappeared!
Thoroughly recommend Donegal heritage Trails!

A group of 13 old college friends spent a fascinating morning on the historical walking tour of Rathmullan with guide Deirdra Friel. Her easy-going manner, wealth of knowledge, and great store of engrossing stories about the inhabitants and their exploits made us forget about the brief showers and helped us learn so much about the town. Her obvious passion for being a guide and her pride in Rathmullan and its pivotal role in Irish history were impressive. Highly recommended.

We joined Deirdra's excellent little tour of Ramelton last week (July 2021) and had an amazing 2 hours with her. She is enthusiastic and her genuine love of the area shines through. We learned so much about the town, its industrial and cultural heritage plus she gave us an insight into the future plans for the town. She has a super sense of humour and took our light-hearted ragging in good part. We asked a lot of questions and she answered every one of them!

A friend & myself did the Ramelton heritage trail with Deirdre last Thursday. Being only a half hour drive from Ramelton I was shocked that there was so much more to know about Rameltons history that I never heard of. Deirdre was so informative & her knowledge of Ramelton is second to none. She took us to places that I didn't even know existed. This walking tour is a most for anyone interested in the history of the town. Suitable for all levels of fitness as you stop at various points to discuss the buildings and industry of the area. I hope everyone gets as much enjoyment from it as I did. Continued success Deirdre with your tours, its great keeping the heritage alive.

The tour of Ramelton with Deirdra this morning was second to none. She imparts her knowledge with great ease and I gained so much new information about a town I pass through every day. She is a wonderful guide and storyteller and I highly recommend this tour. I took her tour of Rathmullan last summer and again, it was excellent. She paces her tour perfectly for all age groups. The whole experience was an absolute treat and not to be missed!

A wonderful walking tour around the town of Ramelton. Deirdra was friendly, welcoming and gave us great insights into the town's history. I would thoroughly recommend the tour to any visitors or equally, people from the area who have always wondered about the buildings and the history of the region.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour of Rathmullen today and Ramelton last week given by Deirdre Friel.
Deirdre has great knowledge of both towns and imparts the information with wonderful stories & tales. I would highly recomend both tours.

Visiting Donegal last week I took the opportunity to go on the Ramelton walk. It was top notch. Charming guide, very knowledgeable. Amazing Georgian town with many famous people. I highly recommend the tour and look forward to go on one of the other tours soon especially Rathmullen to hear all about the Flight of the Earls. Great day had by all. Deidre was an amazing guide on our walking tour of Ramelton. Her knowledge of the history and architecture of this area is amazing. Ramelton is a gorgeous town but it was so interesting to hear the stories behind all of these beautiful buildings. As an American living in Ireland I was particularly surprised by the many connections between this wee town and the US. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough. It was the highlight of my summer so far.

It is better to phone in advance ( that is what we did a day before the visit) but it is probably possible to join the group at the last minute.
Unfortunately I did not keep the phone number!

We will be in Ramelton, Cty Donegal for 5-6 days from @ June 23-June 28, 2017. We are interested in the Donegal Heritage
Trail Tour of Ramelton and Rathmulen. Our ancestors are from Kilmacrenan and summered in Ramelton. Schedule and price of tour would kindly be appreciated. Thank you.
