Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for a 9yo birthday party with 20 boys.
The boys were enjoying and being very strong and resilient. But when any kind of trouble starts you are by yourself, the staff is horrible! There just 2 young staff and they were NEVER around. The parents were helping all along, some parents climbing to help stuck kids as staff were ghosts.
I went once to search for them and found 1 instructor outside scrolling the phone and the other also outside the place doing nothing. This while there was at least 25/30kids inside.
Very bad! Don’t recommend for groups never!

This place is fantastic, staff are professional, friendly, accommodating, engaging with the kids, brought 28 under 14 lads and they were certainly not disappointed, safety is a top priority but fun is certainly guaranteed , from booking to attending these guys make it easy, will certainly be back again, and most likely again and again. Excellent value for money, and great option to for food and refreshments using the covered seating areas. Cheers for a great day!

Had a wonderful day, very kind and helpful young people working there especially Fergal. His encouragement and support and kindness made the day for our gang.

Awkward mechanics, not well set up, makes for unpleasant experience, potentially unsafe.
Every zip line either crashes AT the platform, not on top of the platform, and while it’s cushioned, it’s awkward. Or else the zip lines crash land on the ground. The idea could work if you could slow yourself down manually like you can with your gloves hand on other zip lines, but they don’t offer this here. You can’t slow down any zip lines. And when you are zipping at high speed towards the ground, you’re expected to “run it out” (?!) Really awkward and difficult to maneuver, which results in slamming your ankles, or hitting your legs and being twisted around hitting your back and head on the ground. It’s just not necessary, not fun and not safe.
Also, when you sit down to zip line, you sit very low, so you don’t just push off, you have to jump down and out. As well, you have to pull yourself on to the landing platform because you’re too low. And the harness ropes have a bar across it, connecting the two ropes. The idea is to separate the ropes, but it only results in the bar slamming into your face repeatedly when moving forward across the obstacles. No other place I’ve been to around Ireland or the world follow these very awkward mechanics, and yet they do just fine. Not sure why Squirrell Scramble doesn’t take notes from other successful zip line outfits. It seems very outdated and not well cared for.

My only comparable experience is Go Ape in the UK, but this surpassed that because of the extent of the course and the fact that you can keep going up levels.
It's not obvious on arrival where in Killruddery to go - so signage could be better. We parked by the house and walked through to discover a huge car park by the Quirrel Scramble entrance. The guy who booked us in seemed to be in a grumpy mood, but once we had our safety training and were given our kit, we were left to get on with the course by ourselves. The staff who occasionally checked on us were friendly enough.
The problem with all of these courses is you eventually get stuck behind someone slower than you and end up waiting up in the trees for them to finish. We were stuck behind a family who decided to force a screaming 5 year old to continue to the end. It would have been nice for staff to have been more attentive and to have suggested the family come down or step aside.
My daughter, 11, loved the experience however and we would certainly go again.

Fantastic experience For all the family. On arrival we realised that we had booked the wrong day and the staff were so accommodating and managed to fit us in anyway. The course was cleverly laid out and great fun. Our personal favourite was the magic carpet - a really nice touch. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was always someone around if you needed help. Would highly recommend this place. We ranged in age from 6 to 44 and everyone had a blast.

We came to here with a large group of kids ages 16-9. The two moms joined in as well and we all had SUCH a fun experience! The sixteen year old zipped through all five levels more than once and had a blast. The younger ones went much slower but really were able to challenge themselves and stretch out of their comfort zones. When people got stuck, there was sufficient staff to help them out.
One heads up: some of the zip lines can really get your backside dirty if you drag at the end, be sure and try to get your feet under to run the last little bit!
We did get caught in some super rainy and wet weather while up on the highest level - and while it was frightening for the kids, as an adult I felt very safe and the staff kept checking on us as we slowly finished up.
Highly recommend this activity for adventurous people of all ages!

My 7 year old(only turned 7) loved Squirrel Scramble. Everyone starts at the basic level which is not very high but it builds confidence and then they proceed to higher levels. My son absolutely loved it, we will be back again. Like any activity I would suggest you bring your child to the toilet before you start. Highly recommended.

We picked possibly the best day of 2022 as in the weather was fab, not a cloud in the sky and not a breath of wind. There were 7 of us in total, 5 kids and 2 adults (or maybe wanna be kids). From the moment we arrived we had a great experience. The safety lesson was perfect and the instructors take no crap from giddy kids which is great. Equally, throughout the course, the instructors are always close by ensuring that everyone is safe and there to help if needed. I think this event was great value for money and a super day out for a family that just wants to get away from it all and spend some time together, we will definitely be back.
