Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Did the 7km walk today with the family, 2 adults and 3 children, 11,8&3. We followed the green arrow up the hill firstly and then back down the other side.

We really enjoyed it and the kids managed it fine, even the 3 year old though she did moan a little near the end.

It’s not easiest to follow though the river is a good source of direction to keep you on the right track.

The views are lovely as is the landscape and there’s benches along the way to stop for a picnic.

A lovely walk and we’d definitely recommend.

This place was easy to find and it really is a wonderful place to go and lose yourself in the beautiful countryside. We crossed two bridges. Walked along the river and found a fine path that was heading towards the mountains. I would say that it was very enjoyable and I am already looking forward to going again.

Delighted to see on social media that the main carparks and picnic areas were open again (after local water works). A large family group of us went for a picnic and a walk to explore. Some nice new picnic benches added and the walks are always beautiful with something for all abilities.

Used to be a most wonderful ideallic walk, but they are now doing some form of work there, and have opened a new road/walk way some 500 yds up the road. It is boring and without trees or mountain views, so very sad!! 🍀

I live only a mile from Glengarra Woods and walk there most days with my dogs. The area covers several square miles and has a variety of mature trees. The main track leads from the car park and takes you into the foothills of the Galtee Mountains following the clear and lively Burncourt River which is fed from the mountains. An hour's walk or less will take you to the old hunting lodge, which until March 2012 had been a youth hostel, but now closed. The lodge is said to have been designed by the British Architect Nash. The setting of the old lodge is magical, positioned in a small valley with the river an trees surrounding. It is difficult to get lost in Glengarra because the river provides a reliable landmark and the paths are easily walked with good footwear.

Stunning, particularly in spring with the rhododendrons in flower. Walks for all abilities. River spectacular. Really worth a visit and pop into Kilcoran Lodge for a bite after.

This place is so relaxing. It's a great place to leave your dog's off for a run and wash in the river . They love it . A few more picnic tables wouldn't go astray.

First time, it was just beautiful lovely to be with nature and just have a lovely walk. Good pair of trainers I'd say! It'd be great for children, walking the dogs etc. Different paths to walk too.
