Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An awesome old world pub run by Mick and Paul. Its character is charming and a great watering hole for the local business people. The beer garden is unique

When you first walk into this bar you are not too sure - dark and atmospheric - but the bartender soon puts you at ease and has a vast variety of Irish whiskey on offer as well as gin and he pulls a good pint of Guinness of course! There was some lively Irish music being played by a group of local musicians, which we understood was a regular thing.

Excellent location, excellent setting.

Very authentic. Makes for quite an enjoyable pub experience and it's deceivingly big so, if you open the door and there are people everywhere in front of you, don't be put off - this is a very long pub with plenty of space down the back.

Always welcoming and a brilliant smokling area any time of year. The bar and fittings are all wood and the place is just what a pub should be

This is the best pub in Clonmel, if not Tipperary. It has everything you need. Atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent clientele and last but not least, excellent beers. If you want a class bar with a retro feel, this is your bar.

Probably the best pub in the town for a quiet drink or a session with a few friends. Despairing. Give it a go for at least one pint.

Phil Carroll’s bar is one in a million. The gold painted letters above the black & shuttered facade indicate a mysterious interior. You open the door and out opens a magical Tardis-like long, thin pub. Darkly lit and crammed with Guinness, Harp, Bulmers memorabilia, it’s just the cosiest bar imaginable. The Guinness is mighty fine and there is a whole stash of brewery memorabilia and ephemera throughout the pub all the way to the back yard.

Brilliant Irish bar , dark but full of atmosphere and great characters. Lots of wood from what looks to be old shops and great historic adverts for tobacco and of course Guinness for which you would not do better than pop into here for a couple! Friendly landlord and quite frankly if we had not 3 days of a motorcycle tour still to do I would probably still be found there in the corner! A treat!

One of the last remaining old fashioned pubs in Ireland. The character and atomsphere is something unique. The pints of black stuff are.... go visit and find out for yourself
