About
Waterville Heritage Gallery at The Skellig Gift Store provides a great introduction to the wonderful array of local heritage sites and stories, not only in Waterville, but also across the Ring of Kerry and Iveragh Peninsula on Kerry's Wild Atlantic Way. It is a super showcase of the culture and heritage of the South West region of Ireland. The unique outdoor Heritage Gallery is where you will learn about South Kerry heritage, culture, archaeology - stone forts and circles, geology, birds, flora and fauna, and local folklore and mythology. The Gallery also showcases the range of local sea life and farm life of the Skellig Coast region, an outdoor farm machinery display, a history of Kerry's transatlantic cable stations, an introduction to Kerry's International Dark Sky's Reserve, the Skellig Rocks - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the South Kerry Gaeltacht - Uibh Rathach, Bygone days and local heroes both past and present, local and international. There are 150 information panels beautifully displayed on locally sourced Valentia Island Slate and over 300 photo exhibits and archives both in the Gallery and Craft Market. You will also read about the many beautiful places there are to visit and interesting things to see and do while on the Ring of Kerry in the Skellig Coast region. There are two audio visual screens in the adjoining Craft Market. Admission is free and there are several picnic benches in the Gallery for you to relax and take in the magnificent scenery of Waterville and Ballinskelligs Bay. Waterville village is only a five minute walk away too!

What an absolutely beautiful store in stunning Waterville. Full of character, Skellig Gift Store has a range of handmade Irish gifts and souvenirs, the authentic Aran sweaters and Celtic jewellery being the focal points of course. We had a great experience here, and the staff were awesome. Highly recommend this stop in Kerry!

The Skellig Gift Stores have high quality Irish wooden products and crafts. I was looking for a throw and the women at both stores helped me see the options available. I am a very happy customer.

I have bought several Long cardigans from the Skellig Gift store and they are The most durable sweaters I own.
They are made with high-quality wool and last for a very long time.
The cost for shipping and the sweaters are the most reasonable I have found all across all of the Irish sweaters out there. I highly recommend them. Also their communication is immediate and positive.😉👍

We were only in Waterford for a short time and made our way to their wonderful shop! The staff here are beyond fantastic!! There were so many fabulous items that we wanted to purchase and sent home!! Because we were VERY short on time, they accommodated us by not only having our items shipped, but giving us a ride back to our coach before our departure time.. We also ordered additional items online that made it home before we did1 Definitely a first class operation that we will purchased from again.

We do like an Irish gift store, but find some of them can be extremely pricey and/or pushy. This one has a good balance between the cheap and cheerful souvenirs that most of us like to pick up on our travels, and the more expensive, quality, Irish items. We felt at ease browsing and thought the items we chose to buy were priced reasonably.

Excellent shopping experience. We were staying in Knightstown, Valentia Island, and I was looking for a gift. I used their online store, and then telephoned the very helpful shop worker (possibly owner) in Waterville to see if my chosen items were in stock. The items were delivered to me the next working day, which was fantastic. Great value and friendly service.

I ordered a cardigan to Canada. Looks exactly as website and fits well! Nice memory to have from spending 5 years in Ireland. Took 6 weeks to ship due to covid but owner was helpful with correspondence/updates

Ordered a cardigan from the website to Canada. It's as pictured exactly on website and fits well. Shipping took 6 weeks due to Covid, however, the owner was prompt with providing me updates and corresponding.
