Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing inside- must be seen if in the town. From outside it is also beautiful with views of the river Shannon alongside. The Castle from the 12th Century is across the road. Be sure to take 10 mins to go inside. See the beautiful stained glass windows and the wonderful balcony.

The Church of Saint Peter & Saint Paul sits on the banks of the Shannon. It’s very striking from the outside and has an nice interior.

Dominates the views in the area. Quite a modern (100y?) but constructed in a traditional style. Little of explicit interest but pleasant space

I was delighted to have time to pop in after visiting the castle opposite.
A lovely church, grand architecture and peaceful inside. Lovely crib scene and Christmas trees.

This place is worth a look for the gorgeous stained glass windows from the artist Harry Clarke. The luan art gallery is just across the street too.

If you a fan of the architecture of the buildings this is the one of them to look at. Right in city center spot by the river and Athlone Castle on other side of the road

Passed by but didn’t go inside. Very impressive from the outside. Wish I’d gone inside but this was a stop on the self-guided Connaught Walk so I continued on.
