Always an excellent atmosphere in this pub, usually has drink deals, very friendly staff and very close to nightclubs

Just spent a great time in Shenanigans, the new name for what was formerly the Porterhouse. Newly remodeled to enhance the building's charm and character. Comfortable and welcoming. The Guinness was well-poured. The bartender/owner, TJ, is friendly, fun & easy to talk with. This place is great for a couple or a group of friends... tourist or local. Highly recommend!

After plans falling through we wandered into the Porterhouse, the steak sandwich was really good but the service is what made this place. Ciara was an absolute dote and I left with recommendations on where to go tomorrow. I am fairly sure I will always pop in when Athlone after this visit!

We popped into the porter house last Friday the 27th we got greeted at the door but the friendly bar man T.J and seated us with menus, really clean place, nice and warm , and all the sports was showing on the big screen as we asked, we then popped back in that evening to try out there cocktail and we must say TJ did not disappoint , fabulous

Just a midweek break. Clean and friendly. T j the barman was extremely friendly. Rita drank from a jam jar which was lovely but then T J came up with the strawberry daiquiri. To die for.

Stopped in here as we were unsure of bars in athlone what a lovely find,Staff friendly music on the juke box untill a live band started,mix of age groups and a nice safe place for a drink
