We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I stopped at the Heritage Centre on our way to find the nearby Dolmen. The cente is only one room but contains lots of information about the local community, the heritage sites, the impacts of the famine and even some information about the Titanic given there were survivors that travelled from Athlone. Anton, one of the staff was very friendly and helpful, taking us around the room and reciting some interesting stories and answering our questions. St. Brigids Well sits just behind the old church so make sure not to miss out. It is a quaint little centre with lots of history to tell so not to be missed.

I wa looking for something to entertain my father who has visite me every year in Ireland and has seen everything. I also wanted to fullfill my own interest in megalithic sites. It is definately off the beaten track and the welcome is one of the warmest I’ve encountered which is saying a lot in a country where everyone is always pleased to see you. It not highly commercial. It’s real. I highly recccomen. Bring a picnic and go out to the Dolmen. Make sure you get a blessing from the well.

Lovely quiet place just outside Athlone. Excellent centre with lots of interesting exhibits but you'd need lots of time to read all the articles. The 12th century abbey and St.Brigid's Well are right beside the centre. But the other places of interest are a few miles away - the Wake House, The Dolmen and the Hedge School. Good parking on tarmac outside (always good to have tarmac rather than gravel, especially for motorcycles). Very friendly local volunteers - Anton and Sean - showed us around and gave us a lot of information about their fantastic work to preserve the local heritage.

A beautiful old cemetery with well preserved and maintained monastic ruins. Do not forget to stop at the well!
