We were so lucky to do this boat trip on what was probably the warmest amd sunniest day of our holiday. We arrived by chance and were lucky enough to be able to get on (2+3). The staff was friendly and professional and kept to all covid guidelines and the trip was informative and entertaining. The views and scenery are beyond beauty. Highly recommend doing this tour

What a lovely day out on the Corrib Princess. Even though I am a local from Oughterard, I learned so much that I didn't know as well as having plenty of laughs along the way with the witty captain David at the helm. A fantastic trip, for young or old, local or visiting and will definately be hopping on board again!

Took the boat out from Oughterard via Inchagoil island and on to Ashford Castle. Beautiful views all the way, a guided tour of the historical sites on Inchagoil Island then dropped off at stunning Ashford Castle.
You can walk into Cong, which is only 1 KM from the dock.
Included in the price of the boat ticket is access to the grounds of Ashford Castle which really makes it such good value as it would normally cost a €15 per adult entry fee. The grounds are beautiful to walk around.
The boat Captain, David, was really knowledgable with a great sense of humour and Joe, the island tour guide, also very good. Great day out and very good value for money.

We took the cruise departing Oughterard and stopping at Inchagoill. This was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip to Ireland! Seeing the historic structures of early Irish Christianity in such a lush, undisturbed environment is amazing to say the least. The island itself is beautiful beyond words, lying in the shadow of the magnificent Connemara mountains. Stopping across the Lough at Ashford Castle, one can explore the grounds of this impressive place and take the short walk to the picturesque town of Cong, which has lots to see and a great pub. The captain and tour guide were very knowledgeable and friendly. You should definitely do this, even (especially!) during a light rain.

It's great trip to see the Lough Corrib from a boat and visit Inchagoill Island in the lake as a guided tour to the St. Patrick's monastic site which dates back to the 5th century. Then the boat sails further to Ashford Castle both its garden and village of Cong are worth a visit and one has to decide. I personally preferred the village and wasn't disappointed. Great tour and worth to do if the weather stays dry.

This was an excellent cruise which combined history, scenic views of local countryside, detailed and humorous commentary, and opportunities for a tour of beautiful gardens associated with Ashford castle as well as a chance to visit a quaint town for a tea or bit of shopping. I heartily recommend this cruise. A very good value for the ticket price. I went with my adult son and 12 year old granddaughter and we all found many things to interest each of us. It will be one of the highlights of our visit to Ireland.

I thoroughly enjoyed this day trip that that leaves from Oughterard Pier stopping off on the beautiful island of Inchacoill with its 15th century ruins .The sun was shining & David was a very knowledgeable & humourous guide .Then we travelled on to Ashford Castle & enjoyed a leisurely stroll around its vast gardens before heading into the the picturesque village of Cong the ruins of the Abbey are very impressive & the village has some very charming shops & cafes ..after a delicious lunch it was time to head back I highly recommend this boat trip !!!

Weather forecast was rain and thunder but decided to take a chance and so glad we did. David, our captain and guide was passionate and hugely knowledgeable about the lake. Inchagoill island was a particular highlight, like stepping back in time. Don't let the weather put you off, a must do !

We had a lovely time on this cruise in glorious sunshine. Small group starting from Oughterard pier, up to Cong and Ashford Castle with a stop and short tour on the inspiring island of Inchagoill. David , our skipper and guide was very passionate about the lake and Connemara, engaging and informative ( and funny). Cong is a lovely village to explore and the grounds of Ashford Castle were just amazing. Would definitely recommend.
