We stopped to see the bridge as part of a “The Quiet Man”-themed day trip out of Galway. It was beautiful, as was our visit to the village of Cong, where there are so many locations that were used in the iconic film. Well worth a photo stop for any fan of “The Quiet Man.”

We landed in Cong and the rain followed. It was a beautiful town and the bridge was awesome. It overlooked the museum with the most beautiful flowers.

The Quiet Man Bridge at Leam is just off the main Oughterard- Clifden Road by a 100 metres or so, to the left if you are coming from Oughterard. Look for a white signpost for Leam.
As its title suggests, it is the Bridge that was used when shooting The Quiet Man in 1951.
There is a small layby to pull in to and a display board about John Wayne and the film.
It's really picturesque though, whether you've seen the film or not, and well worth a quick stop, especially given it's so close to the main road.

I explained to our kids about the film and they wanted to see it. Nice to see it and just remember the film

If you like the Quiet Man movie, you will love visiting this bridge! The view is just like that in the movie, and it's quiet, with large fields of sheep and a lovely little brook. Its a must-see!

We went out exploring and the owner of Kelly's suggested we visit the bridge. I didn't know The Quiet Man well, but what the heck! It is a nice drive and peaceful, lovely place. Someone who knows the film better would love it.

This bridge is just 30 seconds off the road, so it would be a pity to drive by and not stop to get photo of yourself or your friends perched on the bridge like John Wayne. It's a lovely spot to stop and stretch your legs.

Whether you've seen the movie The Quiet Man or not, the cute little stone bridge is worth a stop. It's only a short way from a main road and takes very little time to visit. It oozes charming character, like most Irish stone structures, and visitors can pick their way to the shore of the creek to photograph it from the side.

Parking is adequate and close to the bridge, and signs tell visitors about the movie and John Wayne's scene here. Cute, peaceful stop when you're driving along that main road toward Galway or Connemara. And when you watch The Quiet Man after your Irish adventure, you'll know exactly where that scene was filmed.

The bridge below is a wonderful old construct as was featured in the movie but is worth noting in its own right. Ireland has some of the best old mediaeval bridges still standing today. Worth a quick visit and walk around.

The Quiet Man is one of my favourite films so a visit to the Quiet Man bridge was a must. In my minds eye i could see John Wayne with Maureen O'Hara standing beside him on the bridge. Park up take it all in and drift away.
