My sister and I visited on a quiet weekday afternoon and we were one of two parties there. We saw the sheepdog demonstration and the mine tour as a group of the two of us. We met one of the sheep herding dogs Floss and saw herder-in-training Misty pre and post demos and both are the absolute sweetest dogs. Thank you for letting us pet them, that made our day.

Keith and Floss were absolutely wonderful. Keith went over the tour time talking to us about the demo, the dogs, and his sheep. Super knowledgeable! We were spouting the facts we learned during that demo to our other family member that missed it the rest of the week. Sean also went over tour time talking to us about the mine. Its incredible how hard that family has worked to clear out the mine and that they still haven't reached the end of it yet!

After our tours, both Keith and Sean helped us plan the next day of our route with lots of recommendations that were fantastic and we ended up moving our route entirely and were happier for it! We would definitely visit again to not only see how far their work on clearing the mine has progressed but also just to talk to Keith and Sean and see the dogs again! We kept referring back to this visit as we had so much fun.

Although we had sun, the sheepdog demo viewing area is covered and the mine is underground so both would be a good rainy day activity too!

Sean is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. We felt we had had a great experience descending 120 feet into the cave. Very enjoyable 40 minutes, well recommended

I had a lovely day at Glengowla Mines. I initially went to see the sheepdog demonstration but ended up also going on the mine tour and I’m glad I did.
Floss the border collie was amazing and I loved seeing Keith and Floss work together!
The mine was very interesting and Sean was an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide. I got to pan and found some little gems which I was able to keep!

Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

We had a great afternoon at the mines, our tour guide Roisin was very friendly & knowledgeable, the tour of the mines lasted approximately 40 minutes, and this was followed by an opportunity to pan for gold for the younger members of the group. All in all the trip was great value for money & a great way to spend a couple of hours visiting beautiful Connemara.

We are a group of 4 adults and 4 children under 12 and we visited the mine and also went to the sheep dog demonstration. Both excellent... We had a very enjoyable afternoon.
The mine tour was well run, very interesting and the guide was a super young man who was great with the kids.
The sheep dog demonstration was also great fun and was very informative abut sheep farming in general. The kids were delighted to get to feed the sheep, and loved being able to pet Jess the sheep dog. The farmer chatted to us for an hour and was very friendly and good fun.
Very friendly staff and lovely gift shop.
