We wanted to explore more than the pubs in Dublin so we decided on a little activity (perhaps to give our liver a rest at least until noon). We found this 'Hike & Pints' tour and were so glad we did. It was a great way to see a part of Dublin you wouldn't normally explore and we had terrific host! Mark (our guide) was lighthearted, knowledgable, and very funny throughout the trip. We left knowing much more than we came about Ireland, the area, and its traditions along with some other fun facts. Most importantly, we had plenty of laughs along the way. The group also enjoyed Missy (his fiathful dog) who led the way and guarded us against any harbor seals, mischief cats, birds, and any other threatening animal along the way. Of course, rewarding our hard work with some pints at the end was a nice way to cap it off. It can be a mixed bag with guided tours but this one was fantastic - Mark's knowledge, humour, and energy made the difference. Great trip, we cannot recommend it enough!…

A couple of us were in Dublin for a few days and we had researched things to do and this seemed the perfect trip giving that we all shared a love for good beer and seafood. The tour didn’t disappoint Mark was a great host and even enjoyed a few beers with us after the tour. The tour itself was really well thought out. The food was exceptional and was a credit to the 3 restaurants we visited. Marks local knowledge was really good and had plenty of good stories to tell about the local area. We are kind of hoping we make it into one of his stories after bringing our friend Kev along I’m sure he can fill you in on the rest. The beers we sampled were lovely and there was a couple of Irish songs thrown in for good measure. We also managed to catch a glimpse of a couple of local phoques (seals in French) if you go on this tour it will make sense. If I’m honest I was apprehensive before going on the tour but so glad we did was a refreshing change and saw some lovely sites Howth is a lovely place to visit.…

Going for a hike with Mark and Missy was definitely a highlight of my time in Ireland. Mark is a great entertainer with Missy being just the perfect sidekick to show you around. The beautiful surroundings of Howth speak for themselves, enjoying them with the stories Mark has to tell makes it even more special. Highly recommended to anyone who's traveling in the area!…

My friend and I traveled from New York to Dublin and we were looking for something less touristy and get out of the city to see some of the country charm. Mark and his puppy, Missy came up highly rated on Travel Advisor and it did NOT disappoint. First, mark is hilarious and his dog runs the show- she’s a little spitfire. You will hike (a lot) all over Howth, about 8 km (5mi). There’s plenty of stops along the way to catch a break, yet not too long that you ever feel bored or stagnant. We covered a lot of sites. You will learn (and see) all about Howth’s ancient and bloody history, along with religious and poets residences. The tour takes you along the cliffs of Howth and some beautiful views of the ocean and harbor seals playing in the water below. Plenty of spots for breathtaking photos and again, Mark and Missy totally make the experience. It wouldn’t be the same without him. You will learn a lot about Ireland in a very entertaining way and this excursion EASILY was The Highlight of our trip to Dublin. Tip: there’s frequent trains from Dublin to Howth for 2.75 euro. Super easy. Thank you Mark for an AWESOME time, and the delicious Pint you included at the end of our trip.…
