About
We hire high quality Kalkhoff electric bikes regular bikes, tandems, children's bikes, child carts and child seats for day hire or up to 7 day self guide tours. Guided tours available for groups of 4 or more. We have mapped routes on quiet country roads. The pedal assist electric bikes will take you further with very little effort. Back up transport available if you take on more than you can handle. We also have a hire base at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park, Boyle Co Roscommon where there is 8 km traffic free cycling. You can hire a bike for an hour to cycle around the park or day hire to see further afield.

We went to Lough Key Forest Park today specifically to use the tandem bikes with both our sons today, but I had made a mistake with the booking and booked the wrong date. This would have been a complete disaster as both of my sons are autistic with ID’s and were excited to go cycling and they would not understand why we couldn’t go. The Gentleman accommodated us at no extra charge and we were blessed the bikes were free as there is no other way the boys could cycle. He was also as kind to us on our last visit because we had never tried tandem bikes before, he let us give it a go and if we had to come back right away, he wouldn’t charge us. Thankfully the boys really enjoyed it and we were absolutely delighted for something else to do with them.

We had a wonderful day biking along the Shannon Blueway, the nearby canal, and a bit of the Leitrim Way. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the quiet of the countryside, the wildflowers, the expansive views of the lake. The eBikes were great - easy to manage and though the way was mostly flat, helpful in keeping the ride more about where we were and the ability to simply enjoy that. The shop owners are easy-going and fun to chat with. You can lunch along the way. We had pastry and coffee at the Shed Distillery. Terrific.

Highly recommended. Seamus is so friendly and helpful and the e-bikes were easy to use and great fun. We went from Leitrim Village up to the Drumshanbo cafe and back. Both in our 60s and not been on a bike for a good while. It was simple and fun. Saw a woodpecker and a swan on a nest near the boardwalk probably regretting its decision! Weather was a little unfriendly but such great scenery it really didn't matter. Will definitely recommend to any visitors and friends.

Brilliant for adults bikes. Friendly service and good value. Not good for kids bikes. Despite booking and providing weight and height several weeks before, bikes were wrong sizes, one was missing, and had difficulties with gears and brakes. Very frustrating stop and start on the trail to fix bike, + not nice on kids. Shannon Blueway very recommended. Easy distance, good facilities in Drumshanbo.
Next time I would try to bring kids bikes, and just rent for adults. Again, adults bikes good standard. Owners were apologetic, but again it didn't fix bikes for kids. Hoping to get a partial refund,which would be fair given we did not get much use out of kids bikes.

Amazing and friendly experience. We turned up without a booking as we had no plans due to poor weather. Seamus was so welcoming and friendly. We were sorted out with bikes and spent the afternoon cycling the 11K route. We got absolutely soaked. However we still enjoyed it, the Guinness and gorgeous Pizza in the Sheemore Inn was very welcomed. I can highly recommend. Excellent service, very friendly and welcoming. It was a great experience on a poor weather day. I can only imagine how amazing it would be on a sunny day. Family of 4, 11 and 8 year old boys.

5 star service thanks to Eileen and Seamus and all staff. I was looking for bikes for Ukrainian children in Leitrim and they donated 2 amazing top quality bikes. It was like Christmas morning when the children saw the bikes! They really have improved these children's life's here now. So helpful and so kind of them. Highly recommend this bike hire company!!

I hired an ebike for a day last week and it was perfect. I had a great bike, was given excellent maps and information and Seamus was so knowledgable and couldn’t have been more helpful. He was extremely welcoming and ensured I had all information and safety instructions. I honestly couldn’t recommend this company any higher! Thank you Seamus!

Myself and my two boys rented bikes at Lough key Forest and Activity Park and had great fun. We did the one hour loop in the forest and enjoyed it so much we came back the next day and did it again. Really friendly service and well kept bikes. E-bike was great to try out, will be back.

Great family day out. Bring a picnic and do the 20km route. Prices are very reasonable. Bikes are well maintained and suitable for all ages. Great scenery and great looking at the boats.

We had a great experience with our bike hire. Easy to organise, good quality bikes and a glorious route to cycle. We were blessed with fabulous weather and did the Leitrim Village to Kilclare route. A decent cycle path, very manageable for our 9 year old and the scenery along the way was beautiful! Will be back again to do the route into Drumshanbo!

Are you open at the moment and can we rent regular bikes for two adults, a six year old who can cycle and would need a child seat with an adult bike for a three year old? Thank you

The electric bikes we have are adult size so you need to be at least 5 ft 1 " to cycle them safely.
