The tear drop of Ireland is not a lighthouse you can visit but one that can be appreciated from afar. The light can be seen over west cork on clear nights

You can only circle this thing by boat. It is precariously placed on a convenient rock in the Atlantic. No longer lived in, the light and position is automated. It is impressive. It's the first (or last) light of Ireland for ships crossing the Atlantic, and it's the marker for turning on the famous Fastnet yacht race from England. In... More

Traveled to see this beauty Ireland's Teardrop aka The Fastnet. Its amazing to see a lighthouse built on top of a rock, I admire our forefathers who built this stunning tower without the aid of machinary, cranes etc etc. Its a must see if you are in the West Cork area.

Couldn't have wished for better weather. We booked on late on a Saturday night for a Sunday Afternoon trip. They were very accommodating. We even got a discount for the group of 9A and 2 kids. We stopped in Cape Clear briefly to change boats and then headed out to the Fastnet. Beautiful blue skies ,conditions and to top it... More

We took the Fastnet Tour, with stops on the way out and back at Clear Island. Everyone loved it and our party was mixed including the elderly and very small children. The rock itself is amazing. The staff on the boats are lovely. Clear Island is beautiful. We saw dolphins on the way back in. It takes the bulk of... More

About a 2 hour round trip from cape clear. It's well worth the cost of the boat. Bring a pair of binoculars as your a bit away in the boat

We went around the Fastnet with Cape Clear ferries and loved the experience, it is well worth a visit and very impressive, when up close, we saw seals and dolphins the day we were out, and loved that, we had plenty time actually around the Fastnet, as the boat crew take time for everyone to see and experience it

Organised trip as part of touring holiday.i've heard fastnet on the shipping forecast so now have seen the place., breath taking views. The trip to the lighthouse is not for the faint hearted but well worth the effort. The cafe serves snacks and cooed meals
