Absolutely fascinating experience, very well done. You must book a time slot for the tour, and if you happen to be in Cobh on the same day as a cruise ship, be sure to book early in the day to get in. The group was a sensible size, the guide wore a microphone so we could easily hear her, and she guided us briefly through the experience of the passengers boarding the Titanic at Cobh, the last port of call before her fateful voyage. We literally stood on the balcony of the White Star Line Ticket Offices and saw the remains of the pier from where the tenders took the passengers out to the ship. We saw mock-ups of cabins, actual possessions from passengers who disembarked from the Titanic at Cobh (lucky them), and lots of items from the Carpathia, the only ship to go to the aid of the Titanic in time to save some of her passengers.

After the guided tour (in English) there are two smallish rooms with lots of fascinating and interactive information if you want to learn more detail. Some of the figures are shockingly sad. The best touch for me was that every person that goes on the tour is allocated a postcard, the 'ticket' bearing the name and class of a passenger who boarded at Cobh. At the end you can use the interactive screens to search for your passenger and find out their fate - a lovely touch to make the tour a little more interesting and personal. My person (I shan't give away the name!) survived, and I bought a keyring bearing her name which stated what happened during the rest of her life - I hope she'll be my lucky charm!

I would say it is suitable for anyone with the slightest interest in the Titanic, teenagers certainly, and more mature younger children who would be capable of coping with the horrors of the losses. They must be able to be quiet and respectful - the place and event deserves that. I wanted to say that I enjoyed it tremendously, but that doesn't seem the right phrase given the tragedy of it; but it was a fascinating experience and I am so very glad we went.

I am geeky about these things but Ioved it. It would be a good suggestion to book ahead. I was there solo and slipped in in 20 minutes but many others were put off for 2 hours. There are cruise ships that dock just meters away. The tour is in a 200 year old White Star building that was the embarkment point for real Titanic passengers. There is even the remnants of an original dock from that period.

The start is with a boarding pass with the name of one of the 123 passengers that embarked at Queestown/Cobh. At the end of the tour you can see if your passenger survived the sinking or not. Then in a small group of about 20 people you walk up the plank and board the tender with a video welcome. You then proceed to stand on the very spot that Titanic passengers stood waiting to embark. Then you step into a replica of a second class and first class cabin and then at the call to abandon ship move into a replica life raft. The tour ends with self guided displays of passenger recounts, facts about icebergs, the man who found the Titanic on the bottom of the Atlantic, a scale replica and other things of interest.

I would recommend this clever engaging tour. May be too scary for very small children as there a recordings of screams as you watch the ship go down from your life raft. And the good news...the passenger whose boarding pass I had survived. 79 of the 123 souls who embarked at Cobh did not.

Very well presented. We have visited Titanic Belfast and the Maritime Museum in Southampton, so thought we knew all there was to know about the Titanic - not so. The Titanic Experience focuses more on the people involved, particularly the passengers who boarded at Cobh.
We were each assigned the character of one of these passengers, we learnt why they were travelling, how they lived on board and ultimately, their fate.
The guides were excellent and the whole experience was really quite moving.

Stopped at Cobh as a port on a cruise. Pre booked several months before. Was fully booked all day with 2 ships in port. Enjoyed my visit. Interesting way to find out a bit more about the Irish passengers on Titanic with each person receiving a ticket of a real passenger on entry and during the tour you find out about their journey and end with their fate. The guide was a very handsome man, very clear and knowledgeable. Staff at entrance were helpful and friendly. Small shop which was reasonably priced for souvenirs. Not a massive museum but had a good 90minutes or so. I wouldn’t recommend this attraction for younger kids as it is aimed at adults and very guided- I was alone but imagine my own children (5) would have been bored and maybe upset by a few points and it would not be possible to move away from the guided group so could potentially be disruptive.

A much smaller attraction than the Belfast Titanic exhibition. Make sure that you pre-book or you may have a long wait to get a slot. Given that there are people coming in to Cobh from the large cruise ships, it may be worth planning ahead.

The paydesk staff weren't especially friendly - I would say they were curt. The area where you have to wait to start the tour is quite crowded and there are only a couple of seats. You are given a ticket which bears the name of a real life passenger on the Titanic and you can find out at the end of the tour whether your namesake survived or not.

Our tour guide was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to be able to stand in a place near to the actual departure point for Queenstown (now Cobh). The tour was very multimedia and some parts are interactive.

Oh and the good news was that I survived the disaster!

We were happy that we went online and pre-purchased our tickets the morning of the day we were going there. I would imagine that it gets very busy in the summer months and you may be better purchasing your tickets well in advance. They only take a certain number of people at each time slot so make sure you are able to make it at the time you sign up for. It took about 45 minutes to go through and the experience was done nicely for everyone. You are given a "ticket" with your name on it and find out along the way what your involvement was on the ship and whether you survived or perished when the Titanic sank.

Being local to Titanic, Belfast our visit to the Titanic Experience, Cobh provided us with a unique link between these two very special places in the story of the Titanic. Our tour guide, who had apparently only started working there in September, was absolutely superb. His enthusiasm and presentation brought the story of the Queenstown passengers to life. Having each been given a ticket with the name of one of the passengers on it and finding out at the end of the tour what happened to them was a very poignant touch. Although a relatively small museum it tells a powerful and moving story wonderfully well. Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable.

Having been to the Titanic Museum in Cherbourg, Normandy, France, we expected ore of the same, but this museum was very different! Much more interactive and it highlights the building of the ship (which occurred right next to where the museum sits) and its impact on Belfast as well as the tragedy of its sinking, the impact that had on sailing and also how the Titanic's remains were found. Really a great museum!

Very informative and well done. We had 2 children under 10, 2 adults and a senior. We all enjoyed it very much. There were kid appropriate things to look at. The guide was fantastic! They ensured our Littles got cards from survivors, which was much appreciated! When there was some more adult information on a video, she called the kids to her and knelt down and told them about the animals that had been on the ship (dogs and a cat) and kept them very engaged.

We absolutely recommend.

Small but nice and original museum located in the original White Star Line office building. I visited the museum at 9:30 am on Sunday and there were only three people in the group including me, perfect! Just an hour later the museum was full.
