About Bike N Beara
We have been hiring bikes on the Beara Peninsula for over ten years. Our bike shop has re-located to the nearby town of Bantry but we are still very much in the business of hiring bikes in Beara. We hire hybrid style bikes (mainly Giant Escapes/Liv Avail) all fully fitted with mudguards and pannier racks. Hire includes a helmet and lock. We would ask that you reserve your bike at least 24 hours in advance and we can deliver the bike to your accommodation. We look forward to hearing from you and will do all we can to ensure you enjoy your trip around the Beara Peninsula.

A large group of us went on a cycling weekend on the Beara Way. Vera at Bike 'n Beara provided the bikes. The customer service was fantastic. The bikes were great. All new or relatively new, and fully serviced when we got them. Good value. We did around 120k on average across group over three days and nobody had a technical issue. Geared perfectly for the terrain. Good advice on routes and good places to stop for a break/lunch/cake. We had a great weekend!

I hired a bike for three days from their Bantry shop. It was excellent value - €40 for three days, all-in, which you'd never get in England in my experience. Also the helpful member of staff gave me a discount because the weather had been so bad on the second day! They have a good range of sizes of bike and the hire cost includes pannier, lock, helmet etc. I would recommend cycling any of the peninsulas around the area.

We had just come down from Healey Pass and made a right turn at this old-time gasoline pump on our way to Teddy O'Sullivans Pub for lunch. We passed this was again on our way to Kenmare, finishing our tour of the Beara Peninsula.

When I arrived with my buddy to start the Ring of Beara Cycle at 7.30 am on 27/5/17 at Castletownbere I discovered that I had a flat tyre. We were directed to a mobile bike service stand in the main square. A new tube was fitted in seconds and a spare tube supplied in case of emergency. The mechanic checked my buddy's bike as well and topped up the air in the tyres. Plus he took a souvenir photo for us. We had a great cycle in glorious weather and arrived back in Castletownbere at 4 pm (no records broken alas). The bike guys were still on duty and welcomed us back. This excellent back up service was provided on the day by Bike 'n Beara. Thanks for your support guys. WHEEL be back!
