Had an excellent trip was able to cycle around the coast with ease thanks to Don. Absolutely brilliant bike hire service. The bike I got Was perfect and cycled like a dream. I will miss it!
Very reasonable prices. When I come back to West Cork I'll definitely be using this service again.

Don provides a top-notch service which outshines other bike hire providers in the area.
My partner and I were able to hire a bike from him for a day; Don made picking up the bike very easy and efficient. When we had an accident affecting one of the bikes he was there immediately to help us.
I've hired bicycles from many providers along the south coast of Ireland and his is hands down the best.

Completed a 4 day self guided trip from Kinsale to Mizen Head. Absolutely stunning scenery, food and hospitality. Couldn’t speak highly enough of Don. As the legs tired and my itinerary changed!! Don was extremely flexible in rearranging pick ups etc. Would highly recommend Don & “Cycle West Cork” to anyone interested in seeing this beautiful part of the country.

Two of us ( my husband & myself) bicycled during last week ( mid May) starting in Kinsale and going north Wild Atlantic Way along the coast up to and including Sheep’s Head Peninsula. We were spoiled all the way not only by beautiful sunny days, good, pushing winds but most of all a breathtaking scenery!! Hard to compare to anything we have seen before! Cliffs meeting ocean, long sandy beaches, enchanted forests.
We highly recommend West Cork Cycling Company.
Great organization ( good hotels with tasty seafood) and clear instructions. It was a real pleasure to meet Don , who is so informative and knowledgeable about the region and has such warm, friendly attitude towards any possible changes on the go.
In short we fell in love with Ireland, and we never expected this would be such a great country for cycling!
Thank you Don for doing such a great job to make our time in Cork really unforgettable!
With respect,
Bozena &Roman

While travelling along the South Coast of Cork we came across a sign to Drombeg Stone Circle. The road is narrow and picturesque and the surrounding nature is beautiful. Dating back to the late bronze age period, Drombeg is an example of a recumbent stone circle where the 17 freestanding stones are symmetrically arranged so that one stone (the axial or recumbent stone) is directly opposite a pair of (portal) tall stones. Really worthwhile to visit this historical site if one has a little spare time.

After spending 2 weeks on a guided tour of Ireland, my husband and I decided to extend our stay and add a self-guided bike trip. We are in our late 60's and are recreational bikers. We found the routes very manageable and not the harrowing traffic that we had experienced on our bus tour. The scenery was breathtaking and the hospitality wonderful. The hotels were excellent and breakfast and dinner were included. Considering the tour price this was a bargain! Unfortunately the weather was not too cooperative so Don was gracious enough to modify our ride one day so we stayed relatively dry. In other words we drove the route in his car when the weather was a blustery 40MPH, raining, and low 50 degrees. Thanks again Don for a great time.

Four guys from the USA had a wonderful 5 day cycling trip thru West Cork thanks to Don. Don was very attentive to our needs and even helped with last minute schedule changes. We loved the scenery and the people. Interesting sights at every turn. Visited Cape Clear Island on a day off from cycling and it was worth it...make sure you visit the goat farm. Accomodations were solid. Food was excellent. Lots of seafood.Don will tell you where to dine. We are planning to return soon.

Had a fantastic solo cycling holiday experience - huge thanks to Don for excellent organisation and knowledge. His suggestions were invaluable and the hotels he booked were very good - particularly Casey's in Baltimore which was fantastic and made me wish I was staying more than one night.

I am a 60 year old London commuter cyclist and the amount I cycled each day was just enough. The quiet roads went through some stunning scenery and there seemed to be something interesting around every corner. Felt rested, recharged and fitter than when I started. Highly recommend.

I had been around Ireland three times, by tour bus, by car, and by bicycle. There is only one way to see Ireland…and that is by bike…and that is under the direction of Don Davis who created and coordinated our incredible tour around West Cork. Having been to many countries around the world, I would rate undeveloped, magical, wild West Cork as the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. It was made more so by the fact that we were cycling and could take it in slowly.
It is very hard to keep the superlatives about Don to a minimum. As a person, he is warm, supportive, motivating, and professionally efficient with a dash of mischievousness thrown in. The hotels that Don booked for us were all first class, which is what we needed after a day of cycling. At our first meeting in Kinsale, he went over the whole tour and gave us all the maps that we would need, and a very detailed description of the route and its highlights each day to be received via email the morning of the ride. It was a great advantage to have Don pick up our luggage from the hotel after we were launched for the day and have it in place when we arrived at our destination. He kept track of us along the route, and we often came upon his parked car on the side of the road, whereupon he would hop out and enthusiastically tell us how well we were doing, and fib a little about the hills to come !
Don was continuously excited telling us about the scenery that we would see and the highlights along the way. His enthusiasm was contagious and motivated our tired legs to move forward once more. My partner and I chose to do a self-guided tour, but at the hotels we would catch up with another group of four who had cycled in many other countries. To a person, they agreed that Don’s was the best.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Thank you Don.
Respectfully,

My first trip to Ireland. I'm an average 61yr old cyclist who usually books pt to pt type trips, supported or bnb by panniers. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, I took a chance and decided to stay in West Cork Cycle owner Don's home town, Skibbereen. Who better to know all the best routes, and a few secrets off the beaten path? Don arrived at precisely agreed upon time with my rental and a wrench to add my own pedals. After a quick spin and a few minor adjustments by Don, I was eager to hit the saddle. Wild Atlantic Way Maps in hand, Don provided me daily loops with options to add or subtract miles as I went. Google maps worked everywhere on my cell, allowing me to explore without concern. These back roads were the highlight of my trip! And because of their hidden gems (a sea inlet protecting the mother seal and her newborn, or a farmer who didn't seem to mind that I stopped to chat) I struggled daily to return before darkness fell...

I'm not suggesting you pass on the well known places: Baltimore, Sherkin Island, Lough Hyne, Castletownsend, Tragumna, Mizen Head all must do rides from Skibbereen....but don't pass by the unmarked lane, memories await!

And the lovely wee town of Skibbereen...I stayed 8 days and would not have minded a few more. Don't miss Saturday farmers market (starts about 9 and go hungery) The Church restaurant was my fav and An Chistin Beag very nice...Apple Betty's Cafe for pie, pastries, tea and coffee....I'd like to take the time to tell about Mary's wonderful home I booked thru airbnb...but this is not the place.
