Lough Hyne is a wonderful place. The water is beautifully clean and the views are amazing. The hill walk is well worth doing for the stunning colour display of the heather, gorse and ferns.

As part of the wild Atlantic way we stopped here. Lovely area with slit of activity on the Louth. Great view and nature reserve.

Loud Hyne is well known to the locals as a outdoor practice swimming pool. I would only rec it to experienced swimmers. It's full of great wildlife especially bird watching. I was told it's the only fresh water lake that links directly into the sea...More

Very beautiful place, water cold but on a nice day great for swimming or water sports. Was busy but not so busy you couldn't find a quiet corner. Easy to find from Skibbereen although very country roads!

Got lost on our way up, my advice is to stick to the path:p heather in bloom on the hilltop + misty weather made it a magical experience

I came here with my friends. We hiked up to the top and it has amazing views. There was a nice buzz around the place. Highly recommend.

Fantastic 45 min walk uphill through amazing woodland to wonderful vista over lough Hyne and the coastline. Then onto a swim in the Lough. Free parking - picnic area and great place to swim /kayak/canoe/SUP off pier a couple of hours after high tide.

Drove to Lough Hyne after visiting the heritage centre in Skibbereen. What a beautiful place with some great walking. Just be careful with the parking as not many spaces and people tend to park all over the place. Would also definitely recommend the climb up...More
