We hiked this trail based on a recommendation of the B&B owner at whose place we stayed the previous night. We enjoyed the beautiful views over Valencia Island, the Skellig Ring (end of the Ring of Kerry), the Skellig Islands and other nearby peninsulas. Several...More

If you have a little sense of adventure and you're up for a good walk, this could be the most memorable part of your visit. It was for us. We parked, climbed the fence, walked up the hill a mile or so, navigated herds of...More

Did most of this walk during a one night stay on Valentia Island, with a visit to the Skelligs the next day. Walking out to Bray Head, you had beautiful views of the Skelligs, as well as the Atlantic. Back to Ward land, there is...More

The walk up to Bray Head is absolutely stunning scenery, the track is good, and you'll be stopping for photos all the time so be prepared for the walk to take a little longer. The walk up can be a bit steep for a novice...More

Nice family walk on a sunny day, excellent views at the top and great for a picnic Ground is fairly uneven so hiking boots would be best but so worth the walk

This walk took us over an hour, rather than the 45 minutes some suggested, but it was pleasant and not difficult. Not much elevation gain. Beautiful views out to Skellig Michael, lovely wildflowers, and bucolic scenery complete with sheep and cows along the way.

We didn't do the whole loop but walked up the 2km path to the head and back the same way. Going there is all uphill but coming back is so much easier. The views along the way and from the headland are fantastic.

An easy, well marked loop. Highly rewardings with views of Puffin Island, The Skelligs and prolific bird life.
