- Chris SEglinton, United Kingdom657 contributionsGreat little loop walk - super sceneryThe entrance is €6 per car - great value. We drove up to 2nd car park for short walk to cliffs viewing deck, then to 3rd car park for the circular walk (25mins walk) for panoramic views. Informative signs positioned at every stop-off point gave us some background on what we were viewing also. Go when the weather is good, you'll see so much more! - D PWellington, New Zealand6,688 contributionsBest views of the island and surrounding areaSo the cliffs were closed for maintenance when we went in September 2023 but the rest was open and I have to say that the views at the very top were spectacular. You could see Skellig Micheal, all of Valentia, Portmagee, the Blasket Islands and all the way to Cahersiveen and it wasn’t even the best of days. We didn’t bother with the walk around the edge as from the mast you could see everything better and do a complete 360° without risk of being blown over! Worth the €6 to drive to the topVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 October 2023

You’ll feel on top of the world with the stunning views across Beginish Island to the Dingle Peninsula and McGillyCuddy Reeks. Fabulous picnic spot on a fine day, with the most beautiful views that you will ever have seen

Fantastic place to get superb scenic views, and most definitely worth a visit.
We drove from Killarney, and it was easy enough to find Geokaun Mountain. We paid €6 for the car at the first car park, and met a lovely fur baby who’d been abandoned as a pup, and was now living her best life as one of the welcoming party!
If we weren’t limited for time we would have walked up to all three viewing areas, but instead we drove to save time.
The views were stunning, and we really enjoyed reading all the relevant information at each platform - history of the area, and resident wildlife.
If you’re time visiting The Ring of Kerry is limited, I highly recommend you make this place one of your stops.

Amazing 360 views of this beautiful island. Obvs the coffee shop can't be open all year, but when it is the staff are always friendly and informative. The whole experience is well planned and thoughtfully laid out.

The mountain and cliffs have ample parking area at all 3 levels. The road up is quite steep but generally a good surface. It was wild and windy for our visit so we drive up in our campervan to each level and then did the short walk to each view point. Absolutely stunning and highly recommended if you touring Valentina. There is a Wild Atlantic Way sign on the top (slightly marred by what looks initially to be advertising boards stuck to the rocks but are actually information signs, could have picked a better spot for them as it’s difficult to take a photo of the WAW sign without them in it).

Great views from the Geokaun Mountain. You can either park your car at the bottom carpark and walk up or drive up to the 3 different levels then walk to the views of the cliffs.

This place has some of the most incredible views we have seen in Ireland with barely any of the crowds. We enjoyed all 3 stages of the mountain including the cliffs, the loop walk, and the top. All gave absolutely incredible views and we had barely any crowds at all when we visited adding to the experience. Overall for anyone driving the Ring of Kerry route this and other parts of Valentia Island are a must see detour.
