Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a view! And they just keep getting better as you walk out towards the headland. The views of the Skelligs are obviously great but make sure you look behind you to appreciate the amazing views back inland as well.

When you get the fort the cliffs to the right make for a great view as well. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day to do this walk. Was a good way to stretch the legs after a fair bit of driving.

Went for a walk with my daughter during the last days of our holiday in Portmagee. The weather was beautiful and a gentle breeze could be felt. The car park at the base was fairly busy but we got a spot. There was a person there minding the cars. A charge of 2euro was asked for by way of car park ticket. A very fair donation. We started the hike. The early stages were tough as the road way is hard core only and very uneven - BEWARE. This
is not a walk for those with bad knees or backs. The gradient is steep. As we proceeded up the views only became more beautiful. Portmagee harbour with the boats coming and going to the Skellig, looked beautiful in the distance. The sea looked calm, but as all who travel there know looks can be very deceiving! As we neared the summit we could see the ruins of the tower. The surrounding area was grassy and easy to move about or sit and take in the views. The cliff face - unprotected - is to die for. The sheer drop to the waters below breathtaking. The view to the Skellig was majestic. I had a set of strong binoculars with me so it really added to the experience. We sat down for a while and then moved around the top area to take in the panoramic views. The Great Blasket and the other Blasket islands were easily made out, along with the whole Dingle area. It was astonishing. The blue skies and strong sunshine made it a place one did not wish to leave - a bit like Mount Tabor and it being good to be there. That being said we headed down. Be careful. remember going down can be more dangerous than going up. All told from start to finish we were about 2hrs on our trek. We had a ball. There were many people doing the same, bot young and old, of many nationalities. It was great to see so many enjoying the scenery on such a beautiful day in South Kerry. Word of advice - bring a drink with you as you will need it on the way up and when you get to the top. When we got to the car we had our 'pick nick' of fresh sandwiches and chocolate biscuits - it was justly deserved. My only disappointment is with myself - this was my first time up to Bray Head though I holidayed in the area for so many years. My bad. I recommend it unreservedly. Enjoy.

A shortish uphill stroll from the car park, there are great views all the way overlooking the Atlantic and surrounding countryside, views to Portmagee and Scellig Islands. At the top there are stunning cliffs to view and some amazing photo opportunities.

We were taken to Bray Head Car Park for the stunning view of where rock and shore, Atlantic and Valentia meet. It is among the most beautiful scenes I have ever visited. One might compare it to the Cliffs of Moher only visitors are closer and get a better view. Park your car at the Bray Head Car Park, look from the lot or take the trail and enjoy!

Wow, the views from the head are stunningly beautiful. As you look out to the Skellig rocks in the distance, you can hear the waves as they hit the island far below. The view back down the channel towards Portmagee is fabulous.

There is a car park at the start, costing 2 euros in a machine. There was a lady there to help of needed. There is no entrance fee to the walk.

The walk up to the tower takes around 30 minutes, along a track past sheep and a few cows. You can easily walk beyond the tower onto a lower part of the headland but most people do not. At the tower you can turn to the right, taking the loop walk, or just turn around taking the track back down.

One of my favourite walks in Ireland.

This time though, we had to do the walk twice. We managed to drop our car key, so went up again searching for it. Thanks go to the French couple who handed our key to the lady in the car park, it was lovely of you. The lady drive up to us, waiving the key out of her window. Thank you.

Simply some of the most fantastic views. The landscape here is something else. Nice Star Wars connection with Skellig Michael to top of off.

Great location with great views. Was here 20 yrs ago and looked forward to a re-visit. Absolutely flabbergasted to find a Pay and Display machine here for parking in the rather small car park. What were the authorities thinking of when they installed this?
