Our amazing Carrauntoohil experience was all down to Richard. His knowledge, patience, positive attitude and sense of humour made our group feel totally at ease during the climb. His advice and tips beforehand really set us on our way. A guide is essential as the weather and terrain can change in an instant. I took away a great sense of respect for the mountain and its surroundings. With Richard as your guide, you are in safe hands. Highly reccommended!

Saturday 12th October 2019, myself & 8 friends took off on an adventure. Cronins yard was the meeting point. Richard was the man blessed to be leading the team. A quick meetup, the does & donts, team photo & off we went. Richard reassured us all from the start that we would go at a pace that suited us, stop for breaks & photos when suited and we would definitely make it to the top of Carrantoohil. We did reach the top, eat, drink, sing & rest. Every season was experienced. I was most grateful to have received a list of what was required to wear & eat to make our climb better. Without a doubt Richard was our ace card. I highly recommend Richard for anyone climbing or trekking in this area. Its in his blood & he is passionate to share his local knowledge. Until the next time. Bronagh (Meath)

We had a wonderful adventure on Saturday from top to bottom of Carrauntoohil with Richard. Such a personable and knowledgeable guide, he kept our group of 9 ladies going with many stories and jokes. While at the same time giving us a great sense of the local geography and history too! It was so great to be on the mountain with someone so local and with so much knowledge of the area. He gave us lots of sound advice too in relation to essentials to bring on the day and even had soard gloves/walking sticks for those who needed them. Thanks Richard for a great adventure, we will hopefully see you for another hike in the future. Sinead, Tipperary

I highly recommend booking Richard as a guide if you are thinking of climbing Carrauntoohil. I climbed the mountain with Richard and 8 other ladies last weekend. Richard had the history and knowledge of the mountain and also clearly is a seasoned climber, even when the rain hit, he kept us entertained. He kept us all going with great craic and plenty of smiling. As a first time climber, I was nervous of the daunting task, but with kind words and the patience of a saint, Richard was there anytime I needed a little extra help. I am so happy I had the privilege to be part of the group climbing trip.

What an experience! I had one of the most memorable, truly enjoyable day with a fabulous group of ladies, guided by the brilliant Richard who kept smiles on our faces and our spirits alive (even when we had shoes filled with water). For anyone who is thinking about doing this hike, I couldn't recommend Richard enough, his sense of humour and extensive knowledge of the mountain made the whole experience for me - I loved hearing the history, you do really gain that appreciation for the mountain. I couldn't have felt prouder to have completed this beautiful hike - we are already planning more walks/hikes with Richard hopefully to do next year! Thanks Again :D Yvonne (Co. Clare)
