Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An excellent oyster tour. We learned all about how oysters are farmed. The hosts were excellent and the tasting at the end was super!!

If you are a foodie and love your seafood - this is a unique experience to see how do those Oysters get to your plate. The guys are so passionate about what they do and so eager to share. Absolutely loved every minute of it.
Best to go when the tide is low to get the full experience, but once you get in touch with them - they are so helpful and would advise you.
The Oysters are absolutely fantastic! Just meaty and delicious - nowhere else in the World have I tasted once like it!
So if you are in the area and looking for an alternative way to spend your time apart from all the sightseeing and you love Oysters - it's a must! P.S. You get a little tasting too ;)

What a day!! We had absolutely no idea how much work was going on behind the scenes or how much there was to learn!!
We had a mixed group, young & old - and we all absolutely loved meeting the team, heading out to see the beds, how much goes into the harvest... really fascinating!! Would hands down recommend to any age group, great for all the family... and make sure to take them up if there’s an offer of a taster!! :D

Sharon and co are very informative and very friendly hosts. It was an interesting way to pass an hour or so on a dull August afternoon.
We hopped on a boat out to the sand banks which the kids loved. We saw the full lifecycle of the oysters and finally we got to taste the biggest juiciest oysters I have ever tasted. 2 out of 3 kids tasted, 1 out of 3 will have them again!

A brilliant morning with Emmet from Realt na Mara Shellfish. It wasnt the brightest of days but the sea was so calm so the perfect opportunity to take our son out on the bay, Emmet talked us through the various stage of growing Oysters and showed us the full cycle from initial seed to restaurant quality. The tasting went down a treat in such a beautiful seaside setting.
