Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We headed here as it featured in the Gardeners World 2 for 1 supplement. Took awhile to find it but parking easy. No defined entrance so wandered along a path... garden attractive but as it was raining we didn't stay long.

My 5 year old has wanted to ride since she was tiny. So we brought her here for a 1/2 hour lesson and 1/2 hour ride out. The girls in the stables were fantastic and she had a brilliant time. Also the scenery is fabulous and it is very easy to sit for an hour watching the world go by. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to pony trek.

See for yourself how amazing Connemara ponies are. Enjoy a ride with the charming Daria - I loved my ride on Holly. Errislannan Manor is nestled between Clifden and Mannin Bays. Mind you they make you work to find the Riding Centre as it is tucked away in its own lovely corner of Connemara. A family owned and absolutely charming Riding Centre where the landscape is remarkable and unforgettable. Let them take you for a tour of their land which encircles moors with a vast stretch of breathtaking seascapes and rugged & rocky hills. You first venture out along Clifden Bay, winding your way slowly around the shore and even see a bit of history as you stop at farm impacted by the great famine. Moving further out on the peninsula to the breaker rocks known as the ‘White Lady’. The ponies navigate the narrow paths with ease, so sure footed, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stunning views. Yes, there is plenty of trotting and cantering over the moors, just watch out for cows sleeping in the sunshine.
Simply a delightful ride. You too will be so happy you chose to ride with Errislannan when visiting Connemara.

I have been horse riding for almost 40yrs and have had my own ex-racehorse for 20yrs; so I think I have a right to comment.

Perfect in every way.

My friend was a novice and so was teamed up with a gorgeous, clever and gentle pony which gave her confidence so she loved the whole experience.

My pony Bubbles was fun, safe and a little character, I was able to pop about, take in the scenery and enjoy myself too.

The ladies who accompanied us were great company and knowledgeable. They loved their ponies and it showed. All ponies in bit less bridles what a fabulous forward thinking gem of a place.

I would recommend a visit to anyone to see ponies living and working happy in an amazing environment, being managed by experts and just being respected and loved.

We rented a cottage just down the road from Errislannan Manor on our visit to Connemara. We traveled with our university-student daughter, who said she'd like to ride one of the ponies that are pastured all over the Errislanan peninsula, something we never would have considered if our daughter hadn't been with us. We booked an hour ride and it was so much fun. My husband and I hadn't been on a horse since we were teenagers! The girls who took us out were wonderful with the horses and we were able to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. I would definitely recommend this experience if you are in the area..

A wonderful experience and both a great trekking experience as well as amazing insight into life into Ireland during the potato blight. Not experienced riders but the horses were fantastic, the trek leader, Mary, was excellent at her job. The trek was tailor made for us - so was at our pace - but the highlight was passing by ruins of famillies which had died in the famine, with the potato mounds still in tact - haunting but amazing. A truly unique experience and one we will never forget. An incredible part of Ireland.

We discovered Errislannan on our first visit to Ireland from New York in 2006, and returned during Connemara Pony Show week in 2007 to spend nearly our entire vacation in Clifden. My 13 year old daughter has been riding in the States for about 4 years, and at Errislannan Manor we found a place where she, my wife, and I could all trek over the hills and moors of this lovely penninsula together.

Many fine accommodations are available 5 miles away in Clifden town, including highly rated hotels and a large number of welcoming B&Bs (Mallmore Country House B&B highly recommended). Situated on a penninsula that juts into the Atlantic, Errislannan Manor is a working Connemara pony breeding farm that provides riding lessons as well as short and long treks over the penninsula's rocky hills and on the beaches. Mrs. Stephanie Brooks, the proprietor, brings in children and young adults during the summer to learn and for the older ones to serve as trek guides. These are generally young women from Ireland, Britain, Germany, and as far away as Australia. The staff, the guides, and the ponies themselves, have always been charming and efficient over more than half a dozen treks in two years. Riders of all skill levels are happily and safely accomodated.

And the countryside and the views of Connemara are enchanting. As with all of Ireland, bring a sweater and a waterproof jacket -- but even in the mist, the experience of riding a sure-footed Connemara in its native Irish habitat is thrilling. The manor also boasts a lovely walled garden.

If you have any interest in horses (even without prior experience) and plan to spend any time in Connemara, I can't recommend Errislannan highly enough.
