    Great seafood and harbor view
Excellent see food and a spectacular view of Kinsale Harbor. Recommended by Irish friends. Specials are on a board and are most likely the best bet. Good wine list and attentive service.

Amazing staff, sublime food and a wonderful atmosphere. I couldn’t say enough about the Bulman it’s well worth a visit. The menu is superb and each and every dish I saw emerging from the kitchen looked delicious. It’s a treat for everyone as it caters for all food preferences

    Great seaside pub
Popped in on our scilly walk on a nice but drizzly day. Friendly welcome on a busy day. short wait for a table followed by some terrific dishes- crab au gratin, crab claws (best of all) and seafood chowder. Staff did really well to provide the service required and seemed to enjoy engaging us. So to add to the reviews, great work from a couple hungry aussies. Recommend the crab claws when on the menu

Pub with a view, perfect evening experience near Kinsale!
We encountered this fantastic pub with dynamite setting on our walk to and from Kinsale and Charles Fort. Perfect place to stop for a drink and an harbour view. Felt like a fairly local crowd...what a perfect evening! (yes, Rick Steves went here, and we did not find it mobbed....it was bliss).

    Sat night 11 dinning
11 of us, tracked from across Euorpe to meet up for the weekend. the main night was our Saturday night supper. The Bulham was exceptionally busy, but were able to get all of our 11 mains out within minutes, Great quality of food. Very helpful staff who worked really hard with a full service. When it came to our bill they even accomdated to split it across 4 credit cards. Well done great job.

    Highly recommended!
My wife and I had the delightful experience of dining at The Bulman in Kinsale. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this gastro pub encapsulates the essence of Irish charm. From the onset, the ambiance, with its traditional décor and cozy feel, set the stage for an unforgettable evening. As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a harmonious blend of local flavors and innovative culinary techniques. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Service was another standout aspect of our visit. The staff were not only professional but also genuinely warm and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was seamless. For those in Kinsale seeking an authentic, gastronomic delight, The Bulman is an absolute must-visit. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that lingers long after the last bite. Highly recommended!

    The Bulman dog friendly pub
Today was our second visit to the Bulman on a Sunday for lunch in last month. It is dog friendly and today we brought our nephew from U.K. he declared the best honeycomb cheesecake ever. We both had the crab and smoked salmon ( same last time) and mom had the special of monkfish and scampi ( last time she declared best calamari ever). The food was amazing. Today it was very packed ( even restaurant upstairs) as there was a special family event. It was just amazing again and prices reasonable ( specials pricey). The burger at the table next looked amazing. Beautiful venue. Great food and service. Highly recommend. Twice now in last few weeks it has been excellent.

11 euro for a glass of wine. Dream on if I'm going there for that...food was good and staff very nice. Very disappointing that a glass of wine was too much

Hello! Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed most aspects. On the wine cost the house wine starts from €7.50 per glass for our French Sauvignon. €11 is our most expensive wines we sell per the glass. Namely our Rioja and New Zealand Sauvignon. These are wonderful more bespoke wines from smaller vineyards so higher cost per bottle meaning a higher cost per glass. We thankfully never hear a complaint regarding this as the quality speaks for itself. If you weren't informed on a cheaper option I do apologise if this was the case, but the menu is on view in the bar with more cheaper options to choose from. Thanks for coming The Bulman

Food was okay, some dishes were v nice but others were overcooked.
Service was mostly very good. The restaurant manager (blonde lady) was unfortunately very poor, grabbed a Christmas decoration off one of the children and gave out to them about putting stickers on the window - regardless of the rights or wrongs, she could have done it in a more professional manner rather than shouting at young kids. Extremely poor experience, will never return

Hello! Thanks for your review. The great thing about Tripadvisor is being able to respond to biased reviews based on false facts regarding the incidents in question. The restaurant manager never once raised her voice to you, the kids or any of the party who dined in the restaurant. She took the Christmas decoration calmly off the Chlidren when they were trying to rip it in two in the middle of the floor. She politely and calmly asked them not to stick stickers on the windows and did not shout at them. All of this was actually apologised for downstairs to our bar manager upon leaving by other members of your party. Some of this you weren't even present for at the time so must have been given a second hand account. The only incident of shouting and intimadation communicated back to me was by another member of staff and a local who was dining in the restaurant at the same time, that witnessed your outburst to our restaurant manager upon leaving. She was visibily upset post this and took time off the floor after it as well. It was described by the local as cruel and aggressive. This is an unbiased account of someone who saw an older gentlemen shouting at a young girl who does nothing but the utmost best in her postion. I think your telling of events is incorrect and deeply flawed based on other accounts I have heard post this. Thanks for dining and I see you said you will never return. This seems to give you the option of returning but due to the facts at hand you are not welcome back based on a decision by management. A note will be made on the book system to confirm this. All the very best for the future The Bulman

I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life and I have visited almost 50 countries. I asked for a table for lunch, three of us standing there, it’s noisy and I’m soft spoken so I held up three fingers, and I have deafness.. He looked at me and said “you can use your words”, I let it go and he indicated a table that needed to be cleared. I went and stood near the wall, not sitting down, and he comes back to finish the cleaning and says “did I tell you you could sit down?” Mind you this is a crowded place and nowhere easy to stand. I told him I was trying to stay out of the way, and he said “And right in my way.” And I was not. I said I am leaving. And I did. I see now there are other reviews about rudeness. This pub deserves zero stars. Do they treat other people with hidden handicaps equally poorly?

Hello. First off I am so sorry for the delay in coming back to you. I was deeply upset to read this review and in the time since it did an internal investigation regarding the incident. It was dealt with harshly and the person in question was reprimanded based on this. It was humour that only comes across as rude and I apologise. If you would ever like to speak further please feel free to email bulmankinsale@gmail.com. I would be happy to communicate further and hopefully welcome you again. It was an unfortunate incident that was not tolerated lightly. Deepest apologies The Bulman
