Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely village spoiled by cars . They’d park on your head if they could even though the ‘car park’ is located a short distance away. New plaza is neither a footpath or car park and the confusion will lead to an accident. Such a shame that the village can’t reach its potential with its location on the Wild Atlantic Way. I’ve no doubt the businesses would increase their turn over ten fold if the plaza was used for the purpose it was designed for.

Great little town. Hurleys Pub a gem. Understated with great food , freshly cooked and it showed. Great value and worth a stop. Local supermarket had Prosecco 30% cheaper than Kinsale.

What a charming, Irish village reminiscent of days long gone but at the same time ultra modern. With it's central square, Co-OP which sells literally everything; supermarket, pubs & a truly delightful coffee shop / bakery called Diva, Ballinspittle has it all. It's is residential of course with a very attractive Parish Church; friendly, welcoming people & only 3kms from Garretstown (surfing) Beach.....
Do yourself a favor & make Ballinspittle a stop off whether for a pint in a typical old world pub or for a delicious afternoon tea at Diva.....

I really don't like the beach. I hate the sand and the rocks. I do love the water but only to walk in, ankle deep and never to swim. My husband loves the beach. What to do?! Go to Ballinspittle, when the tide is out. The rocks are covered in sea anemone, mussels and other shells. there are small caves to delight and rock pools with tiny fish - all easily accessible. The water was beautiful and there were no rocks or stones all the way to the waters edge. Just soft sand. It's clean and there were lifeguards on duty and there was a surf school also. There's a nearby cafe but we had eaten in the excellent DIVAs in Ballinspittle. It was easy to sit on a rock and wash the sand off your feet n a rock pool and not be covered in sand getting into the car - perfect! You can go to the beach on the right or the left as you enter from Ballinspittle. We went to the one on the right. I'll be going back!

Ballinspittle is a very very friendly and colourfull village very close to the Atlantic Way. When you want to escape from the touristic Kinsale and enjoy the Irish countryside take the car and drive to Ballinspittle and drink a cupper or enjoy a lunch at Diva Booutique.
When you drive 3 kilometres further, you will be welcomed and overwhelmed by the waves on Garretstown Beach. Amazing!

Grotto located on the outskirts of Ballinspittle that drew thousands of people to this quiet community in the eighties when locals claimed to have seen the grotto statue move. Statue and Grotto well maintained to this day .

Can you walk from Kinsale to Ballinspitttle? Thanks
Written 23 June 2018
