Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was recently away with my husband and we popped in here. It's been years since we were in this pub and its great to see the renovations that have been undertaken. Great big outdoor area&the toilet area has been renovated too. That's always a plus for us ladies compared to before. Always a few locals in here ready to have the banter and Paul and Matt behind the bar couldn't be more welcoming. I'll definitely be back when i visit Kinsale again!

Well supported by vibrant local trade. Excellent service by friendly staff. Previous reviews were not able to take into account recent renovations. Substantial improvements have been made to support services in the pub, and facilities are as good if not better than many bars. Enjoy a pint in convivial company.

Good service, staff that you can have a bit of banter with. Large outdoor area and plenty of TVs for sport's fans.

Called in a couple of times during our stay in Kinsale they show live sports in the day and had a band in the evening. It wasn’t a noisy live sports bar which was welcome as my partner wanted to watch but I read the paper.

I was with the below reviewer at the time of his visit. Seems to have mixed Oscar's up with The Armada. And his review was aimed at the latter. Oscar's is a grand spot for a few pints. Nice atmosphere and interesting collection of obscure football scarves.

We walked into a near empty bar on a Friday night. We were greeted with a wry smile from the barman, who could only be thinking, "get out". We got our drinks and thought we might have a game of pool. There had been a group playing, but they had left for a smoke and told us to play. We were just racking the balls for them to return to the usual "our table" junk. No problem at all. This happens everywhere, but the vibe was different. I've never felt so uncomfortable. This place is an absolute dump. If you want to take your sister on a date, this is the place for you!

Named after one of the sport writer character in The Odd Couple, it's a sports bar where we watched the 6 nations rugby.

There was a good atmosphere in the place. We had a great afternoon. The toilets need to attention though

Popped in for a glass of red and a Guinness. Very quaint, was in January so Christmas decorations still up, really pretty. A few men in the bar, but friendly barman, nice wine, nice Guinness , nice place to have a slow afternoon bevy.
