Exceptional couple of days with Barry on a 2 day introduction to sailing, course, this May 2021. A really engaging experience - good mix of fun, action and theory. Clearly the team at Sovereign had put a lot of thought and imagination into re-designing courses in our new covid impacted world. Left with a real taste for more sailing. Can't recommend highly enough. Naturally, we experienced every type of weather imaginable. Eoin O'Shea

Terrific experience covering off the Competent Crew course (wb 24th Aug 2020). We had a mixed bag from a weather perspective which is probably very normal for Ireland, apart from storms in August. Despite the weather we were expertly guided by our instructor Michael, to accomplish the course criteria in a safe manner and still managed to cram a lot in. The most memorable part for me was the night sail. This was part of the Day Skipper criteria which the other three students were completing. The boat (Beneteau Oceanis 411) was well equipped, food was plentiful and the instructor, Michael Hinds, were all first class. I would have no issues recommending Sovereign Sailing to anyone looking to do a day sailing trip or a course. There was a very healthy mix of fun and enjoyment without losing sight of the fact this was a course. Certain criteria had to be met and Micheal did a fantastic job of keeping things on track with the correct levels of focus

I would highly recommend this boat and skipper. Be it for a day leisured sailing or a full week long course like we did. We spent 5 days on board and loved every minute of it. We visited towns like Courtmacsherry, Glandore and Castletownend on our trip alone the West Coast. Lots of great meals on board and some swimming. James is a very good instructor and cook too! We has so much fun and gained our competent crew certification. 10/10 would recommend to anybody thinking of dipping their toes into sailing.

My wife and I booked a half day sailing trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We haven't sailed before but were instantly put at ease by our instructor Paul, he was super chilled out and knowledgeable, encouraging and good craic. We could get involved as much as we wanted / relax and enjoy the scenery if we preferred. The trip itself was amazing, would definitely recommend.
