About
We are a family run interpretive centre, just off the main road(R600)between Clonakilty and Timoleague/Kinsale).We are also located on the Wild Atlantic Way. We are open from Mid June to Mid September. At the centre we give presentations interpreting the life and times of Michael Collins. We begin with an audio visual presentation showing all the places connected with Michael Collins in West Cork, we also have a second audio visual consisting of archive footage. The most unique part of the presentation is our live lecture which is conducted by an expert historian who gives an account of the 'Big Fella's' life from 1906 until his death. We also have a full scale replica of the Ambush site in Beal na mBlath. We also do private Michael Collins tours.

A fascinating experience for those with an interest in Irish history

I really enjoyed my visit. The huge collection of authentic artefacts as well as the reconstructed memorabilia pieces were brilliant to see up close. I would say my knowledge of Michael Collins was basic beforehand but after the very detailed talk given, which flowed so well in a story-telling style, I can confidently say I could retell the story of Michael Collins myself. It was so interesting to learn about in detail and I’d love to return with family members.

It’s well worth visiting the sites of Michael Collins before or after the talk to get a true sense of it all. Having the knowledge of the history and being aware of the significance of Michael Collins and many others, really makes it a great experience.

An amazing insight to the life of Michael Collins and Irish history in the early 1900’s. Tim is so knowledgeable, there is nothing about Michael Collins he doesn’t know! The centre is well worth a visit with fantastic artifacts on show, the Crowley family have done an amazing job.

Just drove in last week and no idea what was there and thought I'll be out of here in 15. mins and stayed the whole time.. Really well done and professional and very nice people. I even ended up going to see where Collins lived and died afterwards. Well worth the visit.

Cannot say enough good things about this centre! Tim is so easy and interesting to listen to, we learned so much new information about Michael Collins story, and also Irish history in general! Everything from the presentation, to the artifacts and replicas were outstanding 🙌🏼 It’s an experience that we will most definitely be recommending to others, and we are already talking about visiting again in the future! 5/5 stars, a great experience 😊
