We are a family run interpretive centre, just off the main road(R600)between Clonakilty and Timoleague/Kinsale).We are also located on the Wild Atlantic Way. We are open from Mid June to Mid September. At the centre we give presentations interpreting the life and times of Michael Collins. We begin with an audio visual presentation showing all the places connected with Michael Collins in West Cork, we also have a second audio visual consisting of archive footage. The most unique part of the presentation is our live lecture which is conducted by an expert historian who gives an account of the 'Big Fella's' life from 1906 until his death. We also have a full scale replica of the Ambush site in Beal na mBlath. We also do private Michael Collins tours.

We went to the centre during the holidays last year and brought our two young kids with us. To be honest I would rather go back another time on our own as the kids didn't want to sit still for a movie etc. I would recommend it for older kids and adults.

My husband and I recently visited the Michael Collins Centre and regard it as a must for anyone who has even a passing interest in Michael Collins and the history of the War of Independence and subsequent Civil War during which Collins was shot in his native county. Tim Crowley has created a unique visitor attraction and has an encyclopaedic... More

A little hard to find but well worth the effort. As other had stated the staff at Muskerry Arms where we stayed recommended booking tour with Tim Crowley which was excellent we had a number of good guide in Ireland and Tim was among the best for information and making it come alive.

Not to be mistaken with the Michael Collins house which we mistakenly went to first, the Michael Collins Centre is an excellent history of this period of Irish history. We really enjoyed the presentation and the owners could not have been more helpful or friendly!

We arranged a private tour with Tim Crowley and it was a great day and very worthwhile. He is clearly an expert on Michael Collins and took us from Clonakilty to key locations in Michael Collins’ life, from his childhood home, to the place where he died in battle. We also got to see some sites associated with Tom Barry,... More

In this centennial year of the Easter Rising, we made sure that we visited the Michael Collins Center on our recent vacation to Ireland and were not disappointed! The presentation given by Tim Crowley was most informative, even for those who may be familiar with the history of "The Big Fella". Tim has an obvious passion for the topic and... More

We were driving to Clonakilty and say the signs for the tour. It was so good. We loved every minute of it. The passionate way in which Tim talked about Michael Collins and that era of Irish history was so spellbounding. We had lovely chat with him and his wife. Would definitely come back and bring family with us. Congratulations... More
