This is a really hidden gem. Maybe a little too much seaweed on the beach for some people, but it is so peaceful and remote that really only locals tend to be here. Families catching the last few days before the summer holidays end, really is so pretty. Looking outwards, Ballycotton Lighthouse stands guard on the mouth of the harbour.... More

This beach is close to Ballycotton good for families, picnics, beach sports and walking. it has an easterly aspect and is sheltered from south westerly winds by Ballycotton. It is also adjacent to Ballycotton wildlife reserve where many varieties of birds can be observed. The only drawback is that there are no toilet or refuse facilities. Never overcrowded.

I've been going here all my life. It's a beautiful beach with fantastic views of Garryvoe and Ballycotton. There are no facilities here, but you are close to Shanagarry if you need anything. It's normally very quiet there, which is good, as I go there to relax. On low tide, the Beach is huge and you can walk to Ballycotton.... More

My Friend and I went for a walk on Ballynamona beach recently. It is a lovely quiet beach. It was years since I had been there when my children were younger. It was always hard to find but very popular with families.

I really love this beach because it's very clean and the sand in places is nearly white. One would be forgiven in thinking they are after arriving at a coastal beach in Brittany without the restaurants of course. Its a very safe beach and has lovely small streams to keep the toddlers occupied. There are no toilets here which is... More

This beach is on my door step. Go there alot. Less well known beach, which means that it normally quiet. Kids love it there. Some shallow streams which keeps them going for hours. Can be untidy at time, so if you go, please tidy up afterwards. Quiet, relaxed an safe - happy days.
