A few good displays, with lots of gaps and unlit walkway. Had bought tickets based on previous years reviews, but found it extremely disappointing, couldn't believe we were finished it in less than half an hour - we were all waiting for the big light display! But worse than all of this is that all negative comments and the reviews have been removed from the Facebook page, when I contacted them about it several weeks ago I was advised they were removed "in error" but have yet to reinstate it. Also found it overcrowded, they should have staggered groups entering. Don't waste your money!

dont be swayed by the wonderlights event. the castle itself is a major success and a teriffic atraction. but the wonderlights exhibiton draged it down to a ridiculous level. this exhibition was not worth a quarter of what they were charging. there might have been something saving it if all the money was going to a charity, but this was just a moneymaking scheme by the organisers. shame on them for fleecing people. my rating is based solely on the wonderlights experience. there was no crowd control at pinch points, and this in the middle of a covid spike.

Waste of money. Very poor for the price of the tickets, In and out in 30 minutes. More like a Halloween display. Very disappointing.

A complete ripoff. Have a walk around some housing estates and bring some hot chocolate with you instead. This is Euroland at Brown Thomas price levels. Don’t go. Couldn’t even get a drink at the end as the meagre little huts had 15 minute ling lines in front of them.

The organizers should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off to this extent.

Really disappointed with the wonder lights at malahide castle, it’s was a very poor display for the price of the tickets. 98eur for 3 children and 2 adults. Better displays in some housing estates. No Christmas theme, or festive feeling apart from the food stalls at the end. I hope next year that malahide castle put a bit more though into a Christmas event. Don’t waste your money here, better off using it for petrol and go see the light displays around Dublin City centre.

A really special experience for my son and his two cousins - a visit to Santa at the castle followed by a wonderful Christmas themed tour of the castle with lovely warm and friendly characters throughout . We all really , really enjoyed this experience .

Wunderlights Malahide castle Dublin
Absolute waste of money, having been to Palmerston house drive thru I can say that Malahide is taking advantage here. Poorly laid out, no option to social distance and enjoy the walk. No proper ticketing system we were allowed in 30 minutes before our allotted time. The stewards do nothing to disperse people who stop to take photos which leads to big queues. The food stalls are poor and over crowded, where’s avocado where’s mulled wine glorious hot chocolates. As a local resident I expected much more Malahide castle. Do not waste your money

I live locally to Malahide Castle and trust me, on a early morning or late evening walk it is a fantastic place. So we as a family decided on doing the Wonder light experience. As my kids put it, it's a lot of walking around for nothing, very very underwhelming for the price. If Santa had shown his face and gave us a photo opportunity then maybe it would not of seem such a waste of money , also the music was as someone else put it eery. Will I return to this event sadly no, unless they were willing to pay me to go around. It a big no way and keep away from my family and I.

Attended the Wonderlights event this evening. Very overpriced for what it is and it actually felt more like a Halloween event than a Christmas one. Music playing the whole walk around sounded spooky, perhaps Christmas music/songs might be a better idea. The only part that felt like Christmas was after the exit at the food stands. I'm sure the grounds are lovely to walk in during the day but I'd definitely skip this event if you want to do something to put you in a festive mood.

We attended Wonderlights in Malahide Castle in Nov 2021, informed by the positive reviews on their FB page. They had 4.8 out of 5 at the time of booking, which was based on previous years' events in Palmerstown House. With the exception of a few displays, this was v disappointing and no way worth the €98 we spent for 2 kids and 3 adults (one OAP). One of the kids description was: 'it's just a lot of walking'. We put a negative review on their FB page, and a lot of people put up similar reviews too, however Wonderlights have taken these all down, only retaining a positive feed on their FB page.
