This was my second time I visited. This time, I extended my trip and had the pleasure to stay overnight at the Canal View B&B that Bodo and his wife Tina are running. Fishing was great and I had a great time with Bodo once again. In combination with the B&B where I stayed in a meticulous room and had an amazing breakfast it was all just perfect. Thank you Bodo & Tina.

Fantastic experience pike fishing with my son, with Bodo as our guide. Highly recommended and we will definitely go again !!

Spent a day of fly fishing with Bodo - what a great experience! Caught more pike in one day than in the whole season. Bodo was driving me from one great spot to another in the search for even a bigger one even though I was already happy after the first hour of fishing. He is a great guide, with a huge amount of knowledge which he is sharing happily. I had an amazing day and will be returning soon.

The guiding experiance is excellent! Fishing with the fly or with lures were no problem. You see beautyful lakes on the shannon. And there BenB were we stayed at was wonderful. Everting was very clean. Nice beds. Every morning you have an good irish breakfast. I loved my time there. Bodo and Tina are lovely people. They really care.

We were a group of three American fisherman who hired Bodo Funke of Angling Services of Ireland to provide us with housing and guide services for the third time. We had a wonderful stay. Bodo is a terrific guide. We were able to land over 50 pike, with 6 exceeding a metre in length. The accomodations and meals provided were first rate.

When it comes to guiding for Pike fishing, Bodo Funke is truly outstanding.
Our group spent a week in 2018, and another week in 2019, fishing for pike and perch near Boyle Ireland. Everyday Bodo gave a 110% effort to make sure we had a safe, productive, and enjoyable pike fishing trip - and we are a difficult group to impress. We set high expectations for our guides on our fishing trips, and Bodo has exceeded our expectations on every trip. We stayed at the Funke family B&B, managed by Bodo and his wife Tina, and I have to say it is the cleanest and best organized B&B I have ever visited. I give Angling Services Ireland and A+ rating for all aspects of a great guiding services and B&B.

We’re not Anglers but we stayed for a few nights to attend a family wedding in Boyle. A lovely B&B to stay in, Tina and Bodo are warm, obliging hosts who just want you to enjoy your stay. We ran the #LoughKeyParkrun on the Saturday and they kindly made us a huge fried breakfast afterwards, later than normal so we didn’t miss out!
No hesitation in recommending this hidden gem and I’m sure we’ll be back for future visits 👍👍👍

I recently visited Ireland for the first time with my parents and my dad I spent two half days fishing for pike with Bodo. My first guided fishing experience was one I’ll never forget thanks to the wonderful Bodo Funke! Very knowledgeable and great company - will do everything in his power to make sure you catch the “big one”. If looking for fishing while in Ireland I highly recommend his services.

I am just back from 3 days fishing with Bodo throughout County Roscommon on Loughs Key, Arrow and Gara and the Shannon and Boyle Rivers. Bodo is an excellent guide who knows his waters and adjusted for tough wind conditions. Despite the restrictions on where we could effectively fish, we put several pike in the boat the first two days, but Bodo wasn't satisfied until I boated the trophy 97cm pike that was the highlight of the trip. Bodo is good company and a good teacher. He and his wife Tina run a lovely B&B out of their house where you immediately feel welcome. I enjoyed a newly renovated and comfortable room with en suite bathroom (with amenities, including cable tv, coffee machine and hair dryer); an after-fishing Irish coffee in the guest living room before a wood fireplace and tv; and a full Irish breakfast each morning - all for a very reasonable 50 Euro/night. Bodo even picked me up at the train from Dublin, shuttled me to town for dinner in local establishments and dropped me back at the train for my return to Dublin. All in all a great trip into the Irish countryside and a great fishing adventure. Highly recommended.

We were a group of 4 US fisherman interested in catching pike.
Fishing with Bodo was a terrific experience. He is a very capable guide, with first rate people skills.
We thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and the comfort of his B and B.
We recommend it to all.
