Short visit
Sep 2020
We drove here hoping for lunch and there was a food truck serving and a coffee shack, though no cafe open. We were able to bring our purchases to the tables and chairs in the patio area.
I had a nice walk in the wooded area by the lake and saw the board walk up in the trees but did not try it. Also saw the site of the old house with a tower on it which was closed and could have had a good view around.
We were not there for any of the activities. There was a charge of €4 to get out of the car park. Lots of good walks around the area.
Quite a long drive up to the car park from the main road.

Activities Closed but still Great!
Sep 2020 • Friends
We arrived by boat on a Tuesday and were told that the zip line etc were closed until Friday. This put our plans on hold & we had to find something else to do. We decided upon walking the forest trails. We walked over 7km and really enjoyed being at one with nature and the tranquility of atmosphere away from the usual technology etc! Would definitely recommend the trails (just follow the signs to avoid getting lost!)

Great for a day out
Aug 2020
We've been to Lough Key many times over the years. Its a great place to visit for the day or to stay in their campsite. There is plenty to do and its a very beautiful place. Even with the COVID restrictions, you can walk, cycle or run on the forest trails, do zip it, have a picnic, go for a swim in the lake.

Great Day Out
Aug 2020
Had a great day out at Lough Key Forest Park recently. Would really recommend hiring the bikes and cycling through the forest-it made our day. Unfortunately we didn't book the zip line so it was full when we arrived but looked excellent. Did the lovely treetop tour and walked through the tunnels-there are beautiful views from the top of the tower. Unfortunately the food from the food truck wasn't great so would recommend bringing a picnic. Definitely a great day out for the family

Great experience, would recommend
Aug 2020
This was a great experience. We travelled with 2 children ages 12 and 9 and they enjoyed it. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, Boda Borg and the boats weren't open and I was afraid to do zip-lining but we did the treetop canopy tour and that was worth the €22 as you get your parking for free then. Great views when you do this and there are some nice facts on the way around. We got food from the food truck and ate on the grass by the lake. The sandwiches were nice and for 4 of us it was about €30 so not too bad. Bring some food for the ducks to feed them at the pond (not bread - google it!)
The only bad thing was the toilet block which I believe is not run by the park but still I feel they should be a lot cleaner. Especially as they're not male/female specific, I found them to be disgusting and I didn't feel clean when I came out, eventhough there is sanitiser everywhere. That was the only downside. We will definitely come back when the boats and Boda Borg are back open. Would recommend for families especially!

Overcrowded and filthy very poor.
Aug 2020 • Family
Went for a visit yesterday but was way to overcrowded absolutely no room left for distancing. Toilet was awful not clean no toilet paper no sanitizer in sight long ques for them. The food truck was extremely slow and overpriced no staff wearing masks. Loads of dogs around and people not cleaning up after them. Its usually a great spot but was a disgrace yesterday.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, the park was busy on the Bank Holiday weekend, but we were grateful for all the visitors who did practice Social distancing whilst they visited and we felt there was enough room for all. Prior to reopening all our staff went through rigorous Health and Safety training and especially around the new Covid Prevention Hygiene measures. All staff did an online examination and all have certs to say they passed. All our staff have masks and Visors and they are not permitted to work without wearing either or both. We also have certain staff members who have been trained as ‘Lead Personnel’ who carry out checks on all our facilities, a few times throughout the day which includes checking PPE and sanitizers. We went to great effort to get our Food Truck linked up to our kitchen so we could continue to offer some homemade produce and freshly prepared food. It is a new concept for us all and we are constantly working at improving our offering. We did experience our busiest day so far on the day you visited and we have since made changes to improve our queuing and ordering system but there will always be a little wait intermittently at peak times. The toilet block you are referring to is not owned or managed by ourselves. We will pass your comments onto them. We have provided Portaloo’s in the park which are cleaned every half an hour if not more and all have sanitizers in place. We take pride in our Health and Safety standards and our standard of cleanliness. We would not open or operate any other way, an example of this being the furniture on our outdoor terrace being sanitized after each use. We do as much as we can to encourage people to control their dogs and we also provide Free ‘doggie bags’ to assist with this specific issue. We hope this has helped clear up the concerns you have.

great place,food rubbish

We visited this park today. it is amazing scenery, very tidy and well maintained are. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of walk. We will definitely come back when everything is fully open.
U might reconsider your food truck menu( I really recommend it as a chef). Pizzas were unedible, I'm afraid burn to a crisp.u are better off buying frozen bases as obviuosly whoever is in kitchen can't bake decent pizza. sandwihes premade and left in fridge( i agree to that before rush) ,but you must specify that they must be toasted, othervise they taste like stale. i dont normally complain about food, because i am in that industry for years i understand how it goes, but i paid 22euro for food that we couldn't eat-unfair.Room for improvement here.
At the end I must say staff is super nice, every single one of them. were helpfull and inviting, great job guys.because of you we will return ♥️

Something to do with kids in C-19 lockdown
Mar 2020 • Family
Turned up with two kids and dog just as the Lock down for c-19 started. Really lovely long walk, well maintained forest paths, parked before the end and did the full circuit ending with the viewing tower at the site of the old Rockingham house. All the activities were closed but it didn’t matter as there are outdoor gym equipment. Although I will definitely return when normality resumes
