Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have played a lot of Links golf in Ireland and can confidently say that this is one of the best. We played it in October and was lucky with the weather. The course has some absolutely outstanding holes. All of the holes in the dunnes are magnificent. This course is a bit off the beaten track but worth making the drive too.

Booked a round at Enniscrone on a month-long golf trip. We have played at some beautiful places so far (Old Head, Tralee, Dooks, Waterville) and Enniscrone is right there with any! The condition of the course was superb with the best greens conditions that we have encountered so far. Friendly and helpful golf and restaurant staff made for a most enjoyable day! Go out of your way to play Enniscrone is you are looking for an outstanding and authentic links experience!

It is an amazing golf course - true Irish links golf! Lots of challenging and interesting holes, and the wind and the rain added a bit of challenge. Caddies are great, and definitely help keep the score down...
It is somewhat off the "beaten path", but well worth a visit!!!

A truly magnificent test of golf which features an unforgettable back nine. It was in great condition and well manicured with fast running greens. As with Carne , it is well worth making the effort to visit as it does not disappoint.

Even in winter a course playable. We played it the first time. So it was tough to get around. Next time we will know where to go. Lots of blind holes. Course very well maintained. Greens sometimes tricky.

Myself and my partner spent a few days holiday on the west of Ireland over the last few days. We went to Enniscrone for a day to walk around and explore. We called into the golf club to enquire about a round of golf and also to enquire if there was a local driving range. We assumed there was a driving range attached to the golf club as there were distance makers of 50, 100, 150, 200 etc at the side of the club on a patch of the golf course. This was the first time in Enniscrone and we weren't too sure what was available in the area. We entered the Pro Shop to enquire and we were greeted by a middle-aged man with an American accent who took one look at us and was so rude to us. He told us to try Castlebar. We were quite taken back at his bluntness as were willing to spend an afternoon on the course. He was so rude and ignorant.

I am disappointed that you felt slighted during your recent visit to our Club.
Enniscrone Golf Club is very proud of its customer service record which is validated by our frequent customer feedback surveys and word of mouth commendations from our many visitors.
I can confirm that the information given to you on the date in question was correct, i.e. the Club does NOT have a driving range, rather the area you observed is a practice area for members, and not open to public for insurance reasons.
I am unable, for obvious reasons, to comment on your interaction with our staff member, other than to say we have never experienced any adverse comments concerning him. He has received many commendations and always presents as approachable and business like.
We are open to customer comment provided it is balanced and fair. I do think that your labelling of our staff based on a single interaction with one member cannot be considered fair or balanced and is to be regretted.
I do hope that you enjoyed the rest of your trip in the West of Ireland.

You need the hit the ball straight here or else your ball is more than likely lost in one of the many high dunes. If you have a good score here, you have earned it. Toughest course i have played but so enjoyable.

We played Enniscrone early on a weekday morning. This is links golf nirvana.
The course was in top notch condition, without a blade of grass out of place. I saw members
bending over to refresh the greens and tees themselves. They went around enmass ahead of the players tidying up their golf course.
What a spectatular dunes layout it is. Long dogleg holes surrounded on both sides by huge grass-covered mounds. The beauty here is almost other-worldly.
Pace of play is great when you start off. Everyone at Enniscrone seems to like to play fast.
There's not much dilly dallying here. Well, maybe a couple of USA tourists trying to get a few quick snapshots of the fine layout to take back home for memories.
This has got to be one of the top links values in Ireland. We paid 40 euros with a buggy, it's the early bird special.
Most Irish people do not use buggys. They use pull carts, which are called trolleys. The majority of Irish golfers can play their links courses faster walking than with a buggy.
Trying to cram six rounds of golf in seven days is a lot of fun, but next time I'll allow several days between rounds and use a trolley. A much better way to get the feel of the golf course.
After playing Enniscrone, I'm contemplating joining up. This was a special place.

Got here on my second trip to the Republic. Perhaps it gets better elsewhere on this island of golfing paradise, but, cannot imagine it getting much better anywhere. I play most often in the SF Bay Area where the golf blessings are bountiful. I have played all over the world and often in SE Asia. Even some big name, big money Irish courses have lured me to come. This is visually, value wise and a golf quality standard to use as your future measuring stick. Simply put, if links through duneslands are your thing, this us a bucket list place to make as a repeated round.

Hello: We will be playing Inniscrone next month and have no prior experience in Ireland golf. Do you think we need a Caddie?
Written 30 August 2016
It's always nice to support local caddies and they can save you shots. In saying that i think the course guide/shot saver will help if you're on a budget.
