Was interesting historical site about important but little known battle by americans. Would not go to see alone but Ballina has a couple of sites that together make for an interesting tour.

A very nice monument the road was once known as Brook Street but was redeveloped about 1900 and renamed Hubert Street

Ballina and the surrounding area is steeped in History . The French allies landed in Killala its also where the film year of the French was filmed . They marched up through the windy gap and into Caslebar where there is another memorial . Beleek...More

went back to view this memorial that I have seen so many times over the years and realised what an inspiring thing it is. Worth a visit and make sure to read the inscription
