We found this ruin on the same road along the river and it is signed. This Friary is very well kept, but is surrounded with fencing to keep the cows out and therefore difficult to get a full photo. That said, the inside is charming...More

This place is so worth a visit, loved every minute I spent there and will definitely go back, free to go in, quiet and very clean and well maintained, well done to all who look after this wonderful piece of history

We biked to the friary from Ballina along lovely country roads. We had the whole place to ourselves and it was the perfect place to meditate or enjoy the peace and quiet of the Irish countryside.

This was a little tricky to find (follow the signs not the phone) - but was beautiful and serene when we arrived. The only people there on a summer afternoon and it was lovely.

You could almost just put a roof on it, so much survives. Not much information on the display board but you get the basics. Try to go when the tide is in as it’s more dramatic. Don’t miss the Holy Well just before it.
