About
The Foxford Woollen Mills offers a unique experience to visitors by providing a background to the Mill, explaining its establishment in Foxford in 1892, the challenges faced, and how they were overcome. The story of the Mill is a fascinating tale of one woman's incredible determination and triumph over adversity. You will marvel at this small town's journey to the present day, where you can see the working mills still producing the best Irish-made products, including throws, scarves, and baby blankets. Our cafe serves a range of homemade lunches, salads, soups, and desserts. We also offer gluten-free and vegan options. You can also enjoy our range of homemade jams, chutneys, dressings, brown bread, and scones to eat in or take away. Additionally, you can browse and enjoy our shop's extensive range of bedding, woven items, and gifts. We provide free car parking, baby changing facilities, and a lift.

A modern chic interior respecting and incorporating the history of the building into the shop and cafe. Beautifully presented, the cafe is an absolute must for coffee and food lovers.
Immaculately clean, thoughtfully prepared and presented dishes for vegans to meat and fish lovers. The pictures say it all but whether you fancy a coffee and cake or a delicious lunch at a reasonable price with great value, then this is a place you must stop and refill!

We met the lovely Clare on entering the Mill and she very kindly gave as a tour guide of the Mill and the History of Sister Agnes what a woman ! To see the Mill working was incredibly and to see Michael Collins Blanket on the Mill gave me chills. We looked around all the beautiful Bed linen and clothes & scarves etc but our hearts was with the Michael Collins Blanket which we purchased. The food upstairs in the Cafe was oh wow such an array . A truly wonderful experience and we were so glad to have made the visit today . I have always purchased online their bedlinen but to see the place today and to be given so much information by Clare was the icing on the cake. We then went on to visit the Michael Davitt Museum as recommended by Clare

Absolutely beautiful cafe and shop.

Lovely lunch when visiting Foxford. We did some shopping after lunch, which just made this a very worthwhile trip.

The salads are delicious.

Sausage rolls and quiche were a massive hit, and the salad choices to go alongside were plentiful and varied, something for everyone.

I had a fruit scone with two pieces of fruit... sultanas/raisins. Besides the salads are lovely... pricey. Staff are courteous and efficient

Charming Avoca style eatery and shop, with the fabulous throws and bed linen on display, local food items as well.

Can’t fault the offering at the woollen mills, nice clean shop area with a wide variety of choice and a lovely cafe upstairs serving fresh tasty food. Plenty of choice and seating.
However.
3 of us visited on a Monday lunch time, one of us has a slight disability and limited mobility the consequences of a stroke( aged mid 30’s).
She use’s a walking stick to walk but is naturally slow and no confident in busy places. When we went into the shop I seen the lift to the second floor was “out of order” which is fine it happens. But we made a point when we purchased a few bits to ask about it and we’re told no it’s no working. We proceeded to use the stairs and slowly went up, we ate and returned down the stairs again.
When we came down another customer had arrived in a wheelchair and the staff had no problem taking down the out of order sign and the lift miraculously worked no problem, alas the sign went back up.
Very poor form from the staff or management or whoever decided that only a wheelchair user can access the lift.

I am a regular patron of Foxford Wollen Mills over the years.

The upstairs cafe continues to be a welcoming place with a fair range of enjoyable food and an attractive ambiance.

The shops are at at risk of slipping into becoming a fairly expensive life-style retail outlet with diminishing references to Irish and Celtic themes. The rug patterns are beautiful if expensive and one can only buy so many. The Irish knitwear choice has become particularly disappointing.

Excellent food in beautiful surroundings served by lovely staff. I had the falafel with beetroot chutney with salads and coffee.
My only complaint would be that the beetroot chutney was served in a disposable PLASTIC container on an otherwise beautifully presented plate of food. My friend had a dessert which had cream also served on the plate in a plastic container.
From an aesthetic and environmental point of view ditch the plastic please. Otherwise , a gorgeous lunch. Thank you
